Thank you for your post. I get so tired of people degrading our language, and poisoning interactions with others. I was a career correction officer. I know how this kind of language leads to the "dark side."
I know how the language police kept everything nicey nice while they destroyed our world. I know how they redefined words like 'gay' to make being a faggot good instead of evil, and that list of redefinitions is endless.
If you're not mad enough to cuss about the situation we are in then take your higher road right on in to hell.
People who talk about...the dark side. Always makes me think of someone too nervous to talk about evil....and to say saying fuck leads to...the dark side....total drivel....I can believe you were a corrections officer....I can see how you were well matched to get that job!
People like to talk about how bad language leads to bad actions.
Truly? A man who watches porn and fantasizes about beating his enemies to a pulp, has already committed more criminal behavior than anyone who has said “fuck” to flavor their grammar.
The usage of vulgarity does not indicate that someone is vulgar - the thoughts, and whether they express them in actions, is what indicates they are vulgar.
Also, vulgarity can be used in a tasteful way to liven the English language some, it can be quite bland without some spice tossed in... it's a sign of the times
When I am at the level of anger where I go quiet...then people should run
If I'm yelling it's me blowing off steam ,and I'm not really angry.
Reading some of the other posts, I think most are missing the point of what I said.
First of all, I'm not the "language police." I was only expressing my experiences of the use of language. When I was a correction officer, and before I understood the full power of language, I became a "potty mouth" like the rest of the officers and inmates. I'm not kidding when I say that this CAN be a path to the dark side.
Secondly, I'm of a different generation than the rest of you. I remember when people were more civil, and more forgiving. The younger generation is used to jumping quickly to anger, flipping the bird, etc., etc. This does not represent civility.
To tell me to take my "...higher road right on in to hell" is a good example of what I speak of above.
I don’t agree one way or another with the interaction you’re having right now, but I will tell you what God‘s Word says about foul language.
I had a horribly foul mouth for many many many years. God change that for me by me memorizing this scripture.
“Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, but what is good for necessary edification, that it may impart grace to the hearers. And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor, and evil speaking be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you.” Ephesians 4:29-32 NKJV https://bible.com/bible/114/eph.4.29-32.NKJV
It’s not just the F word.! Although I can say there’s a whole Nother side to all of this, I have to go with what God‘s Word says.
If you want to talk about dark side, let's talk about prison guards.
Overall, they are some of the sickest, evil people in general society.
Care to elaborate how you know this?
