As I have said before, I believe this to be the people whose world view is tied up with who they perceive themselves to be. They cannot take in world view information that runs counter to what they know as this would mean they would have to change who they perceive themselves to be. Therefore, they will reject information no matter how truthful it is.
This is the problem when your entire framework is bullshit. It's like when we hear somebody say "well, the first thing you have to do is acknowledge your privilege" or any of a number of phrases that set off a thousand alarm bells. They can only hear the calls of the enemy and because they are so mired in lies, they can't see that every source they use in their mind to deboonk what others say is actively tricking them.
My mom and dad fit this category. Sad that they are smart, but they are totally brainwashed. The irony is that the reason I question everything is due to my upbringing. I wish they listened to themselves.
I don't think its a matter of smartness or intelligence.
You don't need to be smart to see corruption or evil, and a child can normally tell when someone is being devious or wrong.
In my view, its really about a spiritual element. People who are somehow alert on some level to the spiritual vibration of awakening are moved, guided in their lives to information and places that facilitate and enhance the process.
Remember: many of the people aiming for that corrupted, poisonous world at highly intelligent, but morally and spiritually dead.
There is a fusion of arrogance, obnoxiousness, etc, that are reflections of a spiritual ..... disability ... that often accompanies the more ridiculous examples, like those given above.
