If there are any Congressional people reading this will you please talk to your comrades about creating a law that makes people who video rapes and other criminal acts instead of calling 911 or intervening, culpable of a criminal act in some way?
I just read about this tonight and I am PO'd!
What in hell has happened to people? I am old, arthritic but I can guarantee you, I would have jumped on the POS who attacked the woman and pounded him with my purse! (And it is heavy!)
"The rape of a woman aboard a Philadelphia subway witnessed by as many as 10 passengers, some of whom appeared to film the attack, could have been stopped quickly if one had called 911, US police say.
The woman was raped shortly after 9 pm on 13 October on a train run by Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA), which provides public transportation in Philadelphia, SEPTA Transit Police Chief Thomas Nestel III said." You can read the rest of the article here:
When I saw the headline it had all the hallmarks of a mockingbird news headline aimed at getting people charged up. Are there any real confirmations that this is what happened? I find it extremely hard to believe that no one even called 911.
I think there is more to this story, and as a rule I try not to get affected by news that clearly wants to make you very angry until more information comes.
Here's the story. Read it and then tell me it isn't true.

I think gun laws need to be laxed. If common people wont help we need to arm ourselves.
Reminds me of the final episode of Seinfeld where they were all charged with violating the good Samaritan law after standing by videoing a robbery and poking fun at the victim.
Also reminds me of The Accused with Jodie Foster. I think they ended up also charging bystanders but they were egging it on.
It's possible the incident happened in a tunnel, I know when I used to ride DC subway pretty much anything underground was zero signal.
Also, if they took video, it would be somewhere.
This is part of the reason the country is where its at today.
I was a 12 year old kid living in the hell hole of Brooklyn when the Kitty Genovese murder occured (1964) People just looked on while she was murdered.
I just can't understand it...
If they ban you for venting your well deserved anger then this place isn't worth it. I don't think they will though. Believe most of us feel this way...
Calling 911 isn't good enough. If you are weaker and alone, stick your finger or keys in the eye.
Get him off her and pull the emergency alarm.
if youve spent anytime in philly youd understand. my first time there for business, ~2017. Around maybe 2pm i noticed a bunch of cops show up and line the buildings next to city hall. I walked over and asked a cop, whats going on do i need to be concerned. She told me they have to come everyday at this time, as the kids (high school and younger) get out of school and they will go into the businesses, rob and fight. This was literally right across from city hall, lots of big shiny buildings and businesses. So if thats normal in a nice area...
