The church I left just added a gay, gender studies graduate, “he/him” (how he greets people) piano, music and worship leader who chooses songs by Adele to add Jesus lyrics to. and he’s black, which id say doesn’t matter but in the context of this post my church is all white, roughly 65 is the average age, and about 70% conservative leaning in my opinion. The leadership they have is woke and trying to mesh with the times. In my town of roughly 12,000 people they had a BLM thing in our town square last year and of course this person was there, guilting church members to be there as well. I did complain but I left due to poor leadership and currently on the journey for a new church home.
Let me guess…. Lutheran or Presbyterian? .
I grew up Lutheran my whole life, moved around the last 5 years, this church was actually a disciples of Christ. Very similar orthodox and environment (IMO) but started turning woke when a few leaders and elders passed or moved away and new ones came into the role.
I’ve come to find that the Full-Gospel churches (Pentecostals) are the ones standing in biblical truth and don’t live in fear. No masks, no rowed off seats or pews, anti vaccines. No fear.
Very insightful. There’s a few around me I’ll have to consider visiting!
Stop. I’ve been in a full gospel church and many other Pentecostal churches my whole life (assemblies of God) and I’ve never heard of oneness Pentecostals until last year. Must be a fringe belief like 7th day Adventist.
That’s like saying Westboro Baptists represent the whole Baptist church beliefs
Ok? Why am I supposed to care?… I don’t hold those beliefs and they don’t represent any full gospel church I belong to. I can point to any fringe belief or abuse in anything and it won’t represent the whole…
For example… Do you stand with Qanon Shaman?
Join the wandering Christian Club fren. Nearly all the churches where I live are woke. My daughter took her children to an ELCA (Lutheran) church, but it wasn't the church she remembered from her childhood. So woke, she never went back.
What state? I know quite a few good bible-strong churches in the US. Churches with pastors who have testicles.
When youth group leader on her email to my daughter had pronouns "she her", I stopped insisting my daughter participate.
Woke Christians are the worst.
So are totalitarian puritans.
New Jersey. Most of the pastors here lost their testicles years ago.
Talmudism exists everywhere.
Sadly, this isn't true. Christianity had been evolving from the beginning. It's a false religion based on pagan ritual and sex magic.
The most unchanged church is the Orthodox Church. Go check one out.
Amen.
Truth is immutable, and as Chuck Missler says, then so too DOGMATIC. F the progressive genderless standard-less ruthless progressive narratives!
How odd. It used to before the bible was canonized.
God does not change.
Amen on an unchanging God.. these are crazy times .. have watched a lot of Frens speaking and walking boldly on this sight.. for those of us in the USA there are a lot of strong Accurate thinking Patriots I’m proud to be associated with .. We are Americans through and through.. sadly there are a lot of people out there calling themselves Americans that are absolute derelicts, especially now, but they still identify as Americans.. we find them all throughout our society… definitely in leadership.. the fact they are inaccurate thinkers to the point of being absolute ludicrous means THEY are twisted.. it doesn’t mean America is a terrible country or the truths and values it was established on are.. I would suggest the same is true with the church !!!
I can't believe... Wait, yes I can. Down votes for pointing out real and readily verifiable history. I assume by Christians that don't know their own history.
For fuck's sake, we're here doing deep research. Supposedly. Apply any of that to religion? That's a hard no.
For what it's worth, I didn't downvote you myself.
And while which books are in the Bible may have had some changes over time, the contents of the books themselves has never changed. And the message itself is preserved. Do you not think God able and willing to preserve his word?
I do see your point and it's a good one. I'm not qualified to say if the core message changed, but I do know there was a time when rewrites were normal before the bible was locked down.
But no, I don't think god is able to do anything. I'm a real atheist, not some trendy brainwashed leftard. I spent a lot of time and effort looking and this was the only world view I found that makes sense.
Atheists are rare on this board, fren! But if you hang around here long enough I am sure we can fix that. 😉
Not unless I get hit in the head really hard!
Then I will pray for head trauma! 😂
