Not sure on that one, I know that the sherriff is like the supreme local authority. And has the right to hold off even the feds if they want to if I remember right. There was a group of sheriffs going around about a year to a year and a half ago schooling people on their constitutional authority. I forget all of thier authority, but I remember it surprised the heck outta me, and I was like whoa... if we had all the sheriffs on our side. We can do big things. And sheriffs report to the people too. No one else I believe. Anyway, I'm on a mobile and on lunch, so not much sauce from me right now. Just going off memory.
A sheriff being an elected law enforcement officer is a supreme authority within any local county in America and as long as he cites the constitution and can get one judge to agree with him he can hold the DA and any other person in the state prisoner and bring charges against them. They cannot go outside the county to chase prisoners they would have to work with neighboring counties for extradition so that is their great limit is that they have supreme power but in a limited geography.
When the cunt Whitmer was the DA of Ingham County Michigan she refused to prosecute Nasser for his sex crimes against Michigan State student athletes and the Chief of the MSU public safety took his charges directly to the AG of Michigan Bill Schutte. Does it work that way in Wisconsin?
I'm hoping that they can do this. In CA we have some rogue D.A.s that should be arrested outright for refusing to prosecute killers and thieves. But who would prosecute them?
How's the DA? And are there alternatives to a local DA? Can sheriff bring state or federal charges to be prosecuted by other than the local DA?
