I already declared myself exempt from the vaccine, which was approved, but now they are saying I must get tested 2 times a week. They are still “writing the policy details”. I want to know if they can do that or if it should fall under my exemption?

Technically, yes. They can. You can ignore it and see how long it takes to catch up with you. This is the exact reason I didn't apply for any exemption with my company nor did I disclose my status.
When they come pushing at me to test, I'm going to tell them "no." They are already penalizing me for not submitting documentation of being vaxxed by increasing my insurance premium. If they tell me I need to test, I'll tell them they need to strike the penalty first. Until then, I paid for the luxury of not having to test.
Per my understanding of Title VII of the civil rights act of 1964, yes they can require testing. It is a De Minimus burden on you and the employer. I know it’s very polarizing, but I’d be grateful to be tested in lieu of the jab. My request for exemption was denied and as of now weekly testing isn’t an alternative. (Not a fed employee). I am riding it down to the wire and trying to figure out how I can walk away.
But what I understand is, the ADA requires that medical procedures that are to be required must be equally applied. But I’m not a legal expert so I don’t kniw if that means they can single out exempt people and require it.
I understand the need for declaring oneself exempt to keep the job, but in reality this only legalizes their authoritarian mandates, and you just open up for further abuses like testing. In essence, they still have you by your balls, so to speak.
As difficult as it may be, the only way to oppose these draconian mandates, is to not acknowledging their right to existence. The best recourse (besides demonstrations etc) is to not abide. Don't quit, just say no and let them take the action. That way you are stronger if/when it comes to law suits. If enough people did this, they would not be able to uphold these mandates.

If you could show documentation as to what is in the test and claim its the same reason as with the jab. Be sure to include the CDC/FDA have discontinued the present testing I think they said as of 12/31 (and you will need to research the new test if there is one).
They can’t yet, as they are still writing it. But I assume they will eventually have something in writing and I want to be prepared.
Do you mind me asking in which state you were able to get a religious exemption? I have three kids who are faced with this in N. CA. What did you do to get your exemption approved? What tact did you take? Most here are being declined. Thank you.
Colorado. This is what I sent my employer: “ I, _______, declare religious exemption from the COVID-19 vaccination mandate. Under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, I attest to having sincerely held personal religious beliefs which will not permit me to abide by this mandate.
Additionally, I am not willing to describe these personal religious beliefs for the reasonable fear that if others have knowledge of them it may engender discrimination against me and/or my family.
I am aware that reasonable accommodations may have to be made regarding this declaration of religious exemption, and am willing to discuss accommodations that would be necessary and reasonable in order to come to an agreement.
Finally, I expect this letter to remain confidential, and its contents be disclosed on to those for whom there is an express need.”
Thank you so much for sharing this. One of my sons, who works for Union Pacific, called to tell me that he got the first jab, because it was the last day he could before being let go. He also said that UP is backing off somewhat, so he's hoping he won't feel forced to get the 2nd jab. I will pass your letter on to my two daughters and hope for a better outcome for them. I really, really appreciate your help & kindness.
The test is emergency use authorized, therefore must be optional

There is no test for Covid. Don't know what will be "approved" at my workplace but I will suffer none of it. . .no test, no vax and NO COMPLIANCE! I was looking for a job when I found this one.
