Trump hired and worked with Out'n'Proud Grenell, so Dick's got his panties in a bunch conflating her 'it has no place in politics' comment with an anti-Trump 'gays are bad' sentiment. The misunderstanding is all in the interpretation of the word 'pride'.

Pompeo was placed as director of the CIA by Trump. Previously he was a sitting congressman from Kansas, and a retired Army intelligence officer before that. He wasn't career CIA like other "spooks".
