In the gaming world, there is a way to sort of cheat that is called "smurfing" Basically a high skilled player creates a new account under the guise of being noob / or low skilled.
The 'smurf' knows tips / tricks / strategies that the high skill teams use. This enables the team to perform a lot better, even with no 'uppage' of skills to the players. Just having the advanced knowledge fed to them makes them play better.
People used to do this A LOT in the Counter Strike world, and it was real bad the first few years CS:GO was released.
