If we're supposed to be solid researchers, then our references and sources should be valid and trustworthy. Not just for us or proving to others, but because we're after the truth of truths!
I agree with you 100%, but you can show a certain person an undeniably reliable source, but if it's not from CNN, MSNBC, NBC, etc etc, then they don't even consider an alternative to their narrative.
It's so frustrating talking to people with no critical thinking skills.
Agreed, but showing someone "my conservative news source.blogspot.com" isn't helpful.
Thankfully most articles these days have links to the original source, be it local news article or an official gov PDF, etc. I'd clilc that and show them the sources source.
Add to that how they automatically and viciously turn on anyone on “their side” who asks the wrong questions or strays from the approved narrative. See: Jon Stewart, Russell Brand, Jimmy Dore etc. they live and die by the “Heads I (have to!) win, tails you (have to!) lose” mentality so much so that they are completely intellectually crippled. It’s the most incredibly frustrating, bizarre behavior.
