Or is that where Satan and demons come from?
Just postulating...
Both Enki and Enlil are from the same place.
So, yes. A Demon is just an evil Archon.
Satan is The Big Black. Satan doesn't really come from anywhere. Satan comes from The Nowhere.
In the Beginning, there was Light.
Meaning, A Yin arrived to counter the Yang. As some would say The Urge.
And the King had a Prince. Some would then call the Prince The Demiurge.
This is the Gnostic view of the Universe. Why do I mention it. Because it is both "Christian", and also 100% adherent to all forms of religion that came before. There is a Sky God, and there is a Sky Prince.
Anu and Enlil. Horus and Osiris. Uranus and Zeus.
The Song Remains The Same.
So in this way, and under the "world view" of these ideas, the opposite of Satan is not Jesus. It is God. Light vs Dark. The opposite of Jesus would therefore be something that is not just The Big Black, but is more "Evil, but in this world."
And then we look at Greek mythology. Who is Zeus' counterpart? Well in many ways it was not a god like Zeus, but an older entity that had a different sort of power and status. Prometheus. So too, Lucifer is an angel, or perhaps we could say "Archon", who rebelled against his master (if he is an Archon, his master would be Anu, or Enki/Enlil, the sons who exerted Anu's will on Earth). Lucifer is an Angel. Not a "god". And certainly not GOD (meaning the God, aka YHWH or whatever your name for Him is).
Our history actually tells us our future. And tells us a lot about our present.
If we will but learn it.
Interesting thoughts and connections...
I am Gunga Din.
These are not my ideas. I carry the water.
Yes, the archon that became Satan came from the Creator, but his becoming Satan can truly be said to come from nowhere. He chose to become Satan by breaking his entire "will to be" (what he was created to be), and guessing that some, any, nonexistent thing could be greater than the extant Creator.
I learned recently that "demi-" does not mean "half-" here but "public" as in democracy. The Creator, the Father, is called the Demiurge (Heb. 11:10) and this is an amplification, not a subjugation, of the meaning of the Father's work as Urge (John 4:34). We've done a lot of study in c/Christianity about the difference between gnosticism and Christianity, so I need not elaborate more than to say that all religions have good and evil but true religions do not equate them. The prince of peace and the prince of darkness wield two different scythes for different purposes, life and death. Light and dark are not equals because light can be inapproachable but darkness can only be great.
It is true that Satan the archon sets himself up as the evil Father and anoints many antichrists before a final one to try to serve as Sons. Interesting reading of Prometheus. You are not excessively far from the kingdom of heaven.
My read of "demi-" means "half" or "almost", as in "demitasse". What you are describing here is "demos".
I used to think that correct due to "demigod", but a "demiurge" is not the same at all. A couple months ago I found "demos" has the adjective "demios" that is used in "demiourgous" in Homer and Plato. Just another blurring of meaning.
I am a traveler. I see a lot of the night sky on my own.
Prometheus = Loki = Coyote = Lucifer.
And, Jesus told us that he is the Morning Star.
So my interpretation of this is that Jesus is Lucifer.
On a bad day. :)
What I mean is that Satan offered Jesus all of the Earthly powers and possessions. Jesus saw in what Satan was offering his Kingdom, on Earth.
And Jesus rejected it.
But the idea of "a Jesus" living as a Prince of Earth (King, here), would fit exactly with who really runs this planet. Lucifer.
And before all of "the Christians" lose their minds... sigh.
What I mean is that Jesus and Lucifer are two sides of the same coin. Yin and Yang.
And rather than diminishing Jesus, this idea exalts him.
He saw all of the riches and powers he would achieve just by saying YES to Satan.
And then he said NO.
