That, plus you're rebreathing your bacteria. I try telling this on Facebook, but people really are so stupid that they react with laugh emojis. When you cough or sneeze, it's your body trying to get rid of something, right? When you cough or sneeze with a mask on, and you inhale, you're bringing that bacteria right back into your body, the same bacteria that your body just got rid of. People are poisoning themselves and they don't realize it, and it's so basic they should be ashamed for not realizing it.
This! I tried to explain this to my neighbors the other day and they just got this glazed look in their eye and I could tell they weren’t comprehending anything I was saying. 🙄 I don’t know why I bothered, they’ve gone full retard with the shot, boosters, and getting their kids jabbed. 😳🤦🏼♀️
Not just that, but you're breathing hot air into your mask, which condensates in the relative cold ambient air. You're biulding up moisture inside your mask, which does 2 things. One, you're creating a nice environment for mold and bacteria, two, dust, dirt, and all micro organisms stick to moisture. So technically, you're walking around collecting shit on your face. The same people who say yiu shouldn't touch your face because you're putting germs all over your face are the same ones walking around with a dust collector.
The gunk that accumulates on the inside of the mask generally isn't a huge threat so long as you only wear it for 2 hours. Think of it like food safety. You wouldn't leave a cooked meal out for longer than 2 hours. Masks should be treated the same.
That said, masks also should only be worn by symptomatic people (and of course some healthcare worker situations, but that's a distraction from the topic).

Yes! Yes! This! There's been a marked uptick in stupid (or willful ignorance, IDK) the past couple of years.
