I've lived in Ireland for 20 years and 'fighting Irish' is really a myth. The overall attitude is 'sure it'll be grand, they wouldn't lie to us'.
People are waking up more and more after this last fiasco so hopefully there will be a bit of a fight.
I’m Irish & live here. I think most of the fighting Irish, or those with ‘get up and go’ got up & left. Lot of people are just fine with this - including a lot of my family. There are some of us, but fragmented into different groups, who don’t really coordinate,hard to know who might be controlled opposition & getting cancelled or banned in social media means little reach. Forget about mainstream media.
