HEB had $2 bag of ice. Normally 10 lbs. Now 7 lbs. Very noticeable.
You should see what Costco did with their Kirkland AA batteries a year ago they sold a 72 count for anywhere from $15-17 now the package has 48 batteries for the same price. Gotta pay for that minimum wage increase somehow. Plus, it seems like even the most basic item, minus some food - starts at $10+.
We used to joke back in the 90s when our Costco was still a Price Club that it was the $100 Club because you couldn't get out of there under $100 due to all the impulse buying you'd do just walking the aisles.
Back then it was a common trope on sitcoms for one character to get caught up in that craze and buy like a steel drum of mayonnaise.
It was what led Kramer to feed the horse his excess cans of Beefarino in the episode of Seinfeld where he took George's parents on the handsome cab ride and the horse got gas from eating it.
This guy seinfelds
That's just the 'pandemic size' so you cannot loot the Goo as quickly/easily.
Dollar tree is raising their price to $1.25, too.
Some items are $1.25 but all our stores in SW FLare beginning to sell smaller sized items at the same $1 price.
Orange juice producers did the same thing. Used to be a half gallon, then 59 oz, now 54 oz. At least Costco has stuck with the 59 oz size at the same price, and in the 3-pack for less than $8. Holy crap, I sound like a fixed income retiree.
Don’t even get me started on bacon 😐😒. It went up in price and has more fat on it.
You can get bacon? My town hasn't had bacon for about 5 months now.
I’m near DFW in Texas and there’s so much bacon on the shelves right now it’s insane. But the price is so high no one is coughing up the cash lol

The 99 cent store changed their name to The 99 because there are very few items there for 99 cents anymore.

You don't seem to know how the Dollar tree works. Using the Dollar tree as a basis for price is stupid, About a year ago i bought the 4oz of Goo Gone at Walmart and it cost me like $4 and I just checked and its still $4. The reason you payed $1 for both of those is because you bought them at the Dollar Tree.
You don't seem to get the point...at all. If Dollar Tree isn't buying or selling 8 oz sizes for $1 and it's a higher profit margin to buy 2 oz size (and that's all that is available) and sell 2 oz size for a $1 that doesn't at all seem inflated to you?
FYI....there aren't ANY 8 oz sizes in any store....ONLY 2 oz size for $1
