Edit:
Aunt and I talked politics for over 30 years, whenever we did talk. We were both anti-Republican ( Bush Family ) but she was far more pro-Dem than I. Long story short, Cuomo resigning was a big wake up call. I had told her about the nursing homes, but she did not accept it was possible. After her second shot, I told her they would come up with a new variant before Christmas. She blew up my phone on MORONIC day. The icing on the cake was Fredo going down. She, for once, sees all the connections. She is nervous about the side effects from the vax and actively looking into remedies. She already knows about Ivermectic and Hydroxychloroquine.
Do you know what specific thing/s caused this? It seems to me that a person has to have some objectivity and some humility to admit they've been wrong or were deceived.
it probably varies from person to person, honestly. You can't just try to force people to accept things, you have to wait until they're ready to listen. "Horse to water" and all that.
You can lead a leftist to logic but you can’t make xir think
Reminds me of a story about thomas sowell.
When thomas sowell was in college, he was a (edit:)dyed(/e) in the wool socialist, and nothing could change his mind, not even having Milton Friedman as a mentor.
Over one summer, he took an internship in government and became completely disillusioned with the ideology.
