Isn't it ironic that one has to read news from the UK in order to find out what's going on in Pennsylvania?
I was thinking the same thing.
49 states to go. Should have happened 2 years ago. Everywhere.
Not much of a win, in fact, this is a loss. 59 districts can still force masks. The ruling was based in lack of authority and procedural violation because of the official's acting status and lack of governor's emergency order. The court did not rule that districts or even the state couldn't force masks. They just said the process for making that determination wasn't followed.
The CORRECT ruling would be that any order, mandate, even legislative action (law) forcing humans of any age to deprive themselves of the ability to breathe normally, is unconstitutional as a violation of their basic natural rights to bodily sovereignty over their healthcare decisions.
The people that run those 59 districts are a lot closer to the communities in question. They will have to personally face the irate parents, who will now have a lot more leverage.
Check out a pic of our Governor's wife. Oof...
I wonder if she's his handler.
NJ just ruled the opposite.
MAKING BREATHING GREAT AGAIN !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This IS good news! I know the schools still can mandate masks BUT that’s where we the parents come in and where the battle should be! Currently kicking up a fuss at my son’s school and this will only help! Thanks for posting!
I have 2 grandsons in the system. I'm seeing an on going struggle that the powers in control will let play out among the students. Sad but they are going to need to still take a stand. And we will all need to support them. Some maskers will never let go of their fear.
Getunmask.com seems like a good company, they advertise on gab. Supposedly you can “breathe cold air” through them and can wear on airplanes.
It will now go to the school district level to determine who enforces masks. All it will take is 1 district in PA to get sued over masks and lose; just 1... and all the others will follow and not enforce masks. At the district level they are all afraid of lawsuits. Its going to happen. There are 59 that can still try to enforce. There will be immediate suits filed.
PA Supreme Court: this is unconstitutional and will not stand. My school district: Yeah, we're still requiring the masks.
"state's schoolchildren"
shudders
My daughter teaches at a PA high school. Our district goes with the Governor mandates to ensure that retain their funding.
I’m waiting to see what happens now ..,
