The thought process is correct, but this was an Appeals Court ruling. SCOTUS will recognize the dangers and overturn the Appeals Court. That is, if President Trump’s team speaks to SCOTUS.
The idea Executive Privilege expires with leaving office is deeply flawed. One of the often cited reasons for Executive Privilege is so people advising the President are comfortable giving their unvarnished opinion without fear of it being made public. If this DC Appeals court ruling stands, no one will be comfortable advising a sitting President.
Not that you're wrong (upvoted) but, with what we now know, when's the last president you can think of (perhaps aside from Trump) where We The People would NOT benefit from this type of full disclosure?
Kennedy?
Perhaps it's high time to close some loopholes and bring in transparency.
Dark to Light.
Edit: just read the actual text of the image. Biden is responsible for this? Kek. I'm inclined to think this is definitely 5D chess.

What Trump wants and what SCOTUS will rule are different things altogether. I’m not debating what President Trump and his team want. Just skeptical SCOTUS will let him have it.

Exactly!!!
Thats not really Biden. It's some actor. "What makes great movies?"
Oh yeah, I agree at this point. I was just playing by the "rules" when replying to the above. Didn't want to taint the waters. 😁
Wrong. This was a huge win for Trump. Finally the truth will be revealed in all its glory.

If Trump does not appeal to the scotus then they will never see the case. The winner in this case wouldn’t have standing to appeal
