What in the actual f? I’m surprised they don’t come back to their car and find a homeless person has moved in. The homeless would probably have rights to stay in Califuckya. This is wrong on so many levels. Please don’t rob me, here I’ll leave the door open for you……this sends the message that the criminals are in control. Oh wait, they are!
we need to elect people that will pass laws that we can protect ourselves and our property at all costs... when the criminals fear the people, crime will stop! the same with all the shit-criminals in Washington D.C.!
I used to have a truck I always left the key in. Always. Even parked it outside, I was hoping it would get stolen. Turns out thieves have a higher standard in vehicles than I did.
I used to leave my truck unlocked 25 years ago for the same reason. They still broke my window to get into an unlocked vehicle. I wasn’t smart enough to leave doors opened wide for the idiots to realize there wasn’t anything to steal. Still gonna make parking a bit difficult to fit in one space.
Well, like my grandpa used to say, "Matching wits with stupid people is always difficult. They'll bring you down to their level, and there they will defeat you with their depth of experience."
They dont leave anything in them... totally empty, so there nothing for the smash-n-grabbers to grab.
Same reason I used to leave my convertible top down in parking lots.... there was nothing to steal, and if someone wanted to open my glove box or console, at least I didnt get my top slashed.
the thieves arent stealing the cars... they're just smashing and grabbing, or smashing and finding nothing to grab.... this at least stops them from smashing.
If you do this, and a homeless person sleeps in your car for a week, they may get squatters rights and own your car.
Gotta love SF!
Right!? I just posted the same thought before I saw your post. I can see this happening for real.

How does that stop people entering the vehicles. Seems dodgy to me.

And I suppose the cars cannot be hot-wired.

And so their windows aren't smashed yet again before the looters realize there's nothing to steal.
