Former President Donald Trump was given a hero’s welcome at First Baptist Church in Dallas as thousands of Christians welcomed him with fierce applause.
The former president praised Dr. Robert Jeffress and the congregation for the impact their ministry has had on the nation.
“The love in this room is incredible,” he said.
The president told the crowd of thousands that he was going to deviate from prepared remarks and instead “speak from the heart.”
He quoted briefly from the New Testament about how an “angel of the Lord appeared to humble shepherds and proclaimed the reason for our Christmas joy.”
“For unto you his born today in the city of David a savior which is Christ the Lord,” the president said, quoting Scripture.
The former president acknowledged that in recent days our nation has descended into darkness, but he said there is hope.
‘Our country needs a savior right now. Our country has a savior. And It’s not me,” the president said. “It’s someone much higher up than me. Much higher up.”
Thunderous cheers filled the cavernous auditorium.
“The life and death and resurrection of Jesus Christ forever changed the world. It’s impossible to think of the life of our own country without the influence of His example and His teachings,” the president said. “Our miraculous founding, overcoming civil war, abolishing slavery, defeating communism and fascism, reaching boundless heights of science and discovery.”
He said the United States became a great nation because we followed the teachings of Christ.
“None of this could have ever happened without Jesus Christ and his followers and his church – none of it. We have to remember that Jesus Christ is the ultimate source of our strength and our hope. And here and everywhere and for all time Jesus Christ and we just want to thank everyone who believes,” he said.

Ultimately though, even the devil will serve God
Yes, I firmly believe that God's salvation purpose is to restore everything and everyone back to their original position in front of God. Even Lucifer must be brought back to repent and to submit to God's great love.
Exactly. The bible is clear that all of creation will be reconciled to God in the fullness of time. "All" is pretty inclusive. Don't parade this belief too much here, fren. If you take away the Christian joy of holding Hell over other's heads and feeling special, you'll be met with pet verses and vehemence.
I hate to say it but these so-called truthers here think to be doing God and man a service but they're still asleep when it comes to the spiritual realm.
Haha. I guess that's true Queef. But let us remember that the joy of holding hell over someone's head is always a projected state, in which those that do the holding are actually holding it over their own heads, unconsciously.
It's the liberation from that sort of detachment from self that requires all sorts of unGodly methods to punish one's self that is the real awakening.
(And, I understand the psychology, I think. Although its in a different area, this anon has been going through a whole heap of major internal transitions of awakening to how I was holding down a lot of unresolved pain, which was connected to certain beliefs about who I was in relation to others in my family. Those beliefs have shown themselves to be the once protective but not severely limiting creations they are.)
Either way, I certain try to feel the spots where I can productively share a little of my thought and experiences.
The best is yet to come
You have some errant theology fren. The devil will be destroyed and will not serve God at all. Unlesss you consider burning in hell serving God?!?! The bible says God "causes all things to work for good" not "god causes all things....." BIG DIFFERENCE!
