Please Note: In some places if you black cumin seed would be the wrong one, you have to buy Black Caraway seeds.
Not true. Its the seed of nigella sativa which doesn't have an English name as it only grows in the Middle Mast, parts of India and Africa.
Its not cumin, caraway or even Love in a Mist seeds.
Look online for Kalonji seeds or Kalonji oil, unfiltered cold pressed oil.
I have taken this for nearly 10 years now, its best taken with raw honey.
Sidr or Manuka honey are the best, they increase the amount of antioxidants in Kalonji by a great amount.
Yeah, most places I checked sell Kalonji as Black Caraway. Well, I hope I got the right one - it looks a bit like a tear drop shape, and not like the regular Cumin shaped.
How do you take it with honey? Do you roast it? I just add it to cooking, but I know it wont be enough
I have seached online for different ways of application, they are hard to find and contradictory. I take a tablespoon of honey with half a teaspoon of Kalonji oil 20 minutes each morning before breakfast and another one in the evening won't hurt at all.
I am not too sure that heating it is good though, but as I am not a doctor.....
There are other ways of treating different conditions, blending it with coffee grounds are rubbing it on your chest is said to help with your breathing, I haven't tried that one though as I have a hairy chest and the oil is sticky and smelly.
Another question. I have basically cut off sugar in tea and switched to manuka honey, but worried how much is too much. Two tablespoons of honey each day is okay? Sounds a bit too much sugar?
Can I ask why are you taking Kalonji? Anti parasitic?
It has quinones, and is cited in medical research (including Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, which I just read) as anti-inflammatory, antiviral and cancer treatment.
