Its not a simple thing for a priest to just do mass other than in a church. It is required to have a blessed altar, crucifix and candles, Missal and gospels, chalice, paten, corporal, water and wine curets, etc.
It could have been done if prearranged but cant on a spur-of-the-moment decision.
No I have never seen mass in a home, only Extreme Unction. I was an extraordinary minister who brings communion to invalids but no true mass. On a beach only certain ceremonies like weddings but no true mass. A battlefield is different because of the circumstance but it is preplanned and prepared for by the chaplain if he is catholic for that purpose.
Virtual mass doesn’t count if the Washington DC diocese has lifted in-person restrictions on attendance. Has he been going before Christmas? A President going to Sunday church service is a big deal—I was a security guard in California and worked in a neighborhood on patrol along the 405 freeway and would watch the motorcade (along with helicopter) as Ronald Reagan would go to Sunday morning service at a church on the other side of the freeway from where I was.
The purpose of a virtual mass is for anyone who cannot physically attend due to health issues. Eg I have CHF among other things. I cannot go to church without assistance. Or like people in a hospital. Some comments here seem to show covid is the only reason. Covid is not the reason, its the excuse.
Then too Joe wont commit the biggest sin in the catholic church - sacrilege, desecrating the Holy Host. Receiving while not in the state of grace. (Anyone ever see photo op of Joe coming out of a confessional?)
Maybe via virtual mass he might actually pray instead of concentrating on photo ops
I think he would burst into flames if he stepped foot into a Church.
Normally I would say that is an impossible event.
Or shit his diaper
I feel sorry for the choirboys, they worked hard practicing Let's go Brandon

It actually is simple. Have you never had a Mass in your home? Never seen one on a beach or battle field?

I've had a Mass in my home. Our old parish had weekly Mass on the beach.

It does count not just DC but world wide for invalids, handicapped, inpatients, etc.
It's Christmas on a Saturday. Why wasn't he flown to DE as per usual? He'll take a couple days off now, you watch.
