Prince Philip wasn't great. He's the one who said that he wished he could be reincarnated as a deadly virus and wipe out humanity.
Only according to the 'Daily Express' - a traditionally Jewish owned rag. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Richard_Desmond
They have had a long vendetta against the Royals. You may not believe me, but consider that the only source of the quote is from a newspaper that despises the Royals. Food for thought.
Pro tip: there can be more than one group of bad guys.
Hell, I thought they were all bad until I clued in to the white hats. Can't believe our luck. I thought that little people just got trampled by heedless fighting cabals
Prince Philip wrote the forward to the book "People As Animals" in 1986:
"I just wonder what it would be like to be reincarnated in an animal whose species had been so reduced in numbers than it was in danger of extinction. What would be its feelings toward the human species whose population explosion had denied it somewhere to exist… I must confess that I am tempted to ask for reincarnation as a particularly deadly virus, but that is perhaps going too far."
So the "Daily Express" is not only not the only source of Prince Philip's feelings.
He is saying that an animal might wish to seek revenge against the poachers of its species. To say that this means that he wants to depopulate humanity (as you originally stated) is quite disingenuous.
He wanted to reincarnate as a deadly virus. That would reduce the population obviously. If you can't see what he meant and put that with what he said later, you're not understanding things.
He didn't say anything like what you said.
