At the heart of atheism is skepticism. They are not skeptical at all.
I am at peace with my beliefs. These people are not.
I visited my Christian aunt and uncle recently. They are really good, friendly people. They asked me if they could say grace at their own table in their home. I told them “please”. You see, if you are truly comfortable with your beliefs, the beliefs of others are acceptable, so long as their actions are good.
I do grow tired of people constantly trying to cast a bad light on all atheists. I can say that it only reflects poorly on you. If you were at peace with your beliefs then you wouldn’t constantly have to try to convert others. You would simply lead by example.
You aren't at all skeptical of the fact that there are far more combinations possible in your genetic makeup than there are atoms in the universe? That the simplest life form on earth contains over 450+ genes, and theoretically you would need hundreds of genes for the theorized simplest life form to exist (it would need to exist in/on its food source and absorb it somehow).
If you tried to randomly create one of your genes by guessing at combinations, let say at 1,000/second for 13 billion years, you would not have tried all the combinations in just one gene. You are made up of ~27,000 genes.
It is like saying if we took a hard drive and swiped a magnet over it, eventually we would get MS Windows. Everyone here knows that wouldn't happen, - especially not in such a short amount of time as 1,000/sec x 13 billion years.
Now look out at the world around you, and see how much information would have to be created from whole cloth in such a short amount of time - with the bunk Evolutionary model often only a million years, or a few hundred thousand. It is ridiculous.
when you look at the idea that all of this happened on one planet, then yeah, it seems kinda unlikely right? now consider that there are potentially BILLIONS of planets in just the milky way galaxy alone, and that there are BILLIONS of OTHER galaxies, many of which are even LARGER than the milky way, and the chance that at least one planet wouldn't develop advanced life is nearly zero.
I think the idea that there are hundreds of billions of stars inside of hundreds of billions of galaxies - and so far not one sign of E.T. life points to the impossibility of life forming on its own. In fact, this is a scientific 'law', that life only comes from other living things.
Take the simplest life form theorized to be able to exist. It would need approximately 250 genes. The simplest life forms on earth now are made from extremely complex amounts of information that doesn't work if put together a different way. How do you explain Abiogenesis?
Just on this planet alone, in only a few billion years we have such a huge variety of complex lifeforms from plants, bacteria, insects, fish, humans, etc. For that much complex information to form together into coherent things is like saying every video game, OS, app, business suite, space shuttle programming ever made to date all programmed itself over a short amount of time with magnets pulled over hard drives.
We all know that is impossible - especially in only a few billion years, or with the example of data programs, swipes of a magnet. Even if you tried 1,000 swipes a second for 5 billion years, you still haven't tried all the combinations in one gene - and we are talking about hundreds of millions of genes. It is said that over 90% of every species ever to exist on this planet is extinct - so the real amount of data, coherent data, is staggering. Information Theory shows that simply saying 'evolution + magic pixie dust + many years' isn't nearly enough to explain this amount of data.
I am skeptical because God does not heal amputees. Show me a true miracle and I will believe.
As far as evolution, you’re completely ignoring MILLIONS of years of trial and error. Only organisms suited to their environment survive and reproduce. It’s not random at all. It’s a long series of cause and effect.
The answer according to the Bible is that this entire reality was originally created for God and the angels to use, with man being a created being to be a caretaker over this planet. There were never to be amputees, little kids dying of cancer or politicians killing their constituents.
This is all due to the 'sin', which is to say corruption that was created in this reality by Satan, and in turn humans. This entire reality will be one day destroyed along with everything in it, and a new reality will be given to those saved from this broken reality.
Just like many can't stand imperfection - God is a hyper-perfectionist, and we are told no one and nothing in this reality will be saved except through Jesus. The amputees, kids with cancer, etc are all evidence of a broken reality - and not due to any actions on God's part.
It is no different than you or I creating a Minecraft world that is corrupted by a hacker. No matter how good the Minecraft being's are, they would be forever corrupted due to the nature of their existence. God offers a way to pull your 'save file' out of this realm, and promises to insert it in the new reality.
Keep in mind that in the Bible, people who witnessed Jesus' miracles with their own eyes were still so stupid they ended up creating a golden idol to worship. You are on this board due to a million coincidences allowing you to see the truth. Yet here you are believing it's due to 'ignoring MILLIONS of years of trial and error'
"I'm sick of you fucking boomers making all kinds of assumptions" speaks of people making assumptions, while making assumptions. Pot meet kettle. I fart in your general direction.

Making ass-umptions, I see...
