Azathioprine is not poison and doesn't lead to immune system collapse or anything. I take it twice a day for my rheumatoid arthritis. It's helped my symptoms. It hasn't caused any poisoning despite being on it for years. I'm not sure where you're getting your information on what happens when someone takes azathioprine, but as I said, I take it twice a day and have for quite a long time, and I'm still here. So something is off in your data.
