Today's "I'm fully vaccinated, but..." is so yesterday's "I don't support Trump, but..."
It's sad we live in an era where people have to qualify their statements in this manner. That's all.

Nothing that comes before the word "but" matters.
Not so. When you teach assertiveness, you make a statement that affirms the other person's point of view, then say BUT, which is YOUR assertion, and then add the action you want to see. Like:Say, John, I know your parking space is pretty far from the building, BUT you are parking in my spot, which was assigned to me because I need to travel during work hours, so (Action) please try not to park in it in the future"
i've always hated this limp wristed prefacing
if you have something to say, just say it
I admit, I preface with "I'm not a conspiracy theorist but" a lot...but only when I am on the road for work talking to customers about the whole mess. Then if they come back as receptive I drop it. And if it makes you feel better, I haven't come across many in the trucking industry who aren't just like us. Sometimes I even refer them to this site
Social dynamics is complex, but just about everyone understands it well enough to adjust their speech depending on the audience. We're not all sperglords. Haha. Just sad how much control the DS media has on what's acceptable to say out loud amongst the masses.
Honestly, could someone please help me out. I am totally serious. What are people so afraid of in speaking the truth? I could understand if you can't talk politics to keep your job, that has been a thing since forever, but keeping your mouth shut otherwise? I really don't understand. How about a very simple "i think the whole covid thing was a giant scam" Done and done. Plus it works. Make these fools prove that covid exists. This isn't hard guys.
humans are by nature social beings, so the fear of being ostracized is kind of baked into our dna. the problem the way i see it isn't necessarily that people hold their lip due to fear, but the rules being made by central committee on what's acceptable in public and what is not. it's not organic.
What on earth is central committee? Seriously the cool among us have always been the free thinkers! Why are people deliberately becoming sheep? Real question.
you're right about some always being free thinkers. by central committee, i mean the people behind the 4am drops for the mockingbird media. generally, people have always been sheep... forever. it's just that in the recent past, the powers that be spent resources to make the public believe they were free so there was more free expression. it made people more productive, but when the illusion becomes too expensive to maintain, they go full totalitarian. -frank zappa quote.
"I'm fully vaccinated, but that could change tomorrow!"
No we don't .
what could follow I'm fully vaccinated but: What?
anything that goes against the narrative surrounding the vax/covid
It's 2 reasons that are kind of connected :
#1 They think they are smarter than everyone else. They actually believe they are smart enough to know if they've been conned. They have a false sense of 'intelligence entitlement' because "trusted" sources on the TV told them 'facts'.
#2 They are scared. If they say the truth out loud, it's conviction of belief. If they say the truth out loud, they have to admit they've been conned. They have to admit they're NOT as smart as they think they are.
It's also fear of being an individual. "Don't make waves" is the motto for so many people. Not making waves means you're just sitting in a boat on a body of water and just drifting. No thought needed, no action needed. "If I don't think about bad things, that means they're not real" Basically the definition of a smooth brain.
Everyone thinks they have a high IQ. Facts are the average is under 100. Facts are IQ means absolutely nothing. There are doctors, lawyers, scientists, architects, and engineers that can't even do a necktie.
Indeed. Interject with, "But even if you were/ weren't..."
