I asked why the earth was curvature when you look out of an airplane window. "The windows are curved" Then I replied, what about on the ground, wouldn't everything seem curved before reaching altitude... Then I asked, what about sky divers, they see the curvature too. His response: "Look, i'm not here to make enemies, you believe what you want to believe"
If you take the Bible literally. It’s on pillars with a firmament.
And so you call God Liar???
Let God be true and every man a liar
“Don’t ruin this for me!” lol
I'm not sure what "this" even is. I guess the feeling that you know a big secret that nobody else does.
Yes, I will believe facts lol
Not a flat earther here, however I would like to make a point.
On the surface of a sphere as large as the earth, it would be impossible to see ANY curvature of the horizon, using the naked eye, at a cruising altitude of 42,000 feet.
Think about it logically; if you were to look out of one of the plane’s windows, say on the right-hand-side, and see any curvature (at all), then that curvature must extend beyond the window so that, when you observe through a window on the opposite side of the plane, the horizon must be seen to be significantly below eye level; out of view, even!
This is not, and is never, the case. At any height within our atmosphere, the horizon will ALWAYS be at eye-level and will ‘appear’ to be… a straight (flat) line.
Basically, if you can sit in a seat on the plane, and see the horizon to your left and to your right; then there is no observable curvature.
I’m afraid that your flat-earther friends were right, in this case; you were fooled by the distortion of light refracted by the plane’s window.
Yup, you can just use any 3d software and verify this. It works. Looks so flat.
Leaving Cody Wyoming headed East on a clear summer day the flat landscape is so vast that you can see the curvature of the horizon with your naked eye. At least I could while riding my motorcycle to Sturgis.
It is impossible to see the horizontal curvature of the sphere whilst standing on its surface. The only curvature you may be aware of at extreme heights would be a gently slope AWAY from you.
The horizontal curvature will be impossible to observe due to the fact that the horizon will appear to be at the same height in EVERY direction and will be observed to resemble a straight line. Straighter then a rule.
If the horizontal horizon is curved then the horizon must appear to be at a much different heights in different directions.
You witnessed an illusion.
We were not “fooled” we take God, Who created the earth at his word

Exactly!
Now imagine being the photographer of this perfect example; I want you to turn around 180 degrees and answer these questions.
Where is the observable horizon now?
How high is this mountain!?
You see, for that image to be a true representation of reality, the photographer must be floating quite far out in space.
No, the earthbound observer will always see the earth’s horizon at the same height, no matter which direction they are looking. Ergo, an apparent straight/flat line.
This time, you were fooled by lens distortion.
What about the people who have climbed it and say "yes the earth is curved when i looked out with my own eyes"
Wouldn't everyone who climbed Mt. Everest say "holy shit the earth is flat"
You seem to be a flat earther, while denying you are one.
Pretty sure you can't see the curvature from only 2 miles up, it's a big ball we're on.
You would need to be up closer to mt everest
