I come to this site often, because it is a source of primary evidence. Some stuff is silly, and some of it is not worth clciking on (for me)... but the majority of it is valuable, including the posts, comments, links, etc.
The task of taking in the info and doing something reasonably intelligent with it (which might be as simple as forwarding a link) is daunting. We have to remember that not everyone is a super-accomplished critical thinker, myself included. I am mediocre, and I don't think like a villain.
The variables that impact my effectiveness are numerous. I thought it might be useful to start a discussion about those variables that are personal to each of us, and offer a strategy that you use to deal with it.
I will go first: I am what the mental health field would label as hypomanic. I have lived/coped with it for my entire life without the need to seek assistance (thank God), and I think of it as my super-power. But it also can betray me and lead me down paths that I want to be real, but that are false. To manage this, I say a prayer each time I log on, and ask Jesus for the grace to assist me to see what He needs me to see, and discern what to do with it.
Your variables can be anything... please chip in one thing that you do to help you make excellent use of this enormous resource, so we can all be better with a big bag of tools and strategies. Thanks!
Use the "Save" link under any particular post you want to return to later.
You can make various custom categories to save posts to (vids, memes, articles, discussions, etc)
Wow. This is like learning that the windows on your car can go down. Haha. Thanks! I promise, I am not that stupid!
Yes I made bunch of categories and then save to each.
Very good use of the site's capability
Browse pinned, then sort by new, refresh every 15 minutes. Check daily.
Yes, i go through the top 100 or so on "hot", then flip over to "new" and do the top 100 or so, or until i start seeing older stuff ive seen already
Then do pw, same thing.
Then come back here, do same thing.
Back and forth, until sleep.
Wake up, do all over again
This sounds very efficient
I have learned to pause when I read something. If it disturbs my spirit I stop and analyze why. Often take a step back and look at the information within it's proper context of who is putting it out there. That seems to be the most useful gyroscope to keep things upright.
Sometimes that disturbed feeling is truth hitting cognitive dissonance.
Sometimes. But not always. I pray all the time for discernment. God is faithful to give as much of it as we ask for if we are faithful to actually use it.
Very insightful. Thanks
I will check this out. Thanks
My favorite shortcut: If there is an image on the right margin, I click just the image for a preview or even sometimes it's the main course. This is much faster than going into and out of a post.
I really appreciate when the OP gives the title a good description of the contents. A good description can be a time saver. Sometimes the title is not so descriptive and too mysterious.
Good tips. Thanks!
Click on the things that don’t interest you or you have no idea about. It’s imperative to gain knowledge on all fronts of this great awakening!
I agree, although it gets a little overwhelming. So I need to take the advice of others on here to find that balance.
Eat > Stickies > Hot > Rising > New > Sleep
Lol! This is me, too!
Read this: http://www.whale.to/b/sp/blood.html
Read it thoroughly and take notes if that helps you. It is VITAL to understanding what’s going on. Forget everything else in this thread for right now, just read that and study Q drops over at qagg.news while skimming this forum and 8kun
Save posts on here if you think they’re important.
Try and read Devolution and Prussiagate too.
Also research Racine. I cannot stress this enough. I made a post about Racine and why it’s so important.
Thanks, I will check it out
I take long breaks where I do the stuff I talk about doing.
I can identify with that.
Sort by new. Kek!
I typically keep an eye on "New" because I am waiting for that moment.
I check in once or twice a day scroll hot for 10 min and scroll rising for 10 min
You have more discipline than me.
When you find a really informative post that you'd like to share but don't necessarily want to direct the person to this site, grab the url of the post and run it through www.archive.today and share that. Links from this site are censored on FB and some on work computers may be hesitant to come here but you can still share the information that way.
That's helpful. I didn't even know you could do that. Thanks
I'm seriously considering an outline on paper. The information here seems to be cyclic and come in waves. It's getting harder to cross reference lol
I will be curious to see what you come up with.
So am I really. Hands written notes seem to clarify things for me.
Read titles of posts only and don't click on anything that's opinion or seems low effort...waste of time! Confirmable information only, that's what you click on. Wall of texts without links is usually a waste of time, unless title is intriguing enough ...
Glad you posted. Someone else mentioned the need for good titles. That will help people know what to click on.
I started blocking a lot of posters, helped me avoid a lot of junk posts.
Never thought of this... I might try it.
We dont need no stinkin' committee.
Ignore 75% and savor the good stuff.
I might be too curious. But good advice.
Good philosophy. Thanks
