The states could stop a lot of this by walking away from federal government programs and the money associated with them, but I guess that's too tough for them to manage, so instead they call for a new constitutional amendment intended to restrain a federal government that already ignores the constitution. Yeah, that's the ticket.
Hey, lets just do away with the constitution all together because people should just know the right way to do things?
You are correct, states should not fall for the drug dealer senario of taking federal money, but the corrupt are going to corrupt and the sheep are going to keep electing them in. We need the foundation to be set properly or the house is just going to keep falling down around us because of bad actors.
It's bigger than that. If they succeed in convening a Constitutional Convention expect a bunch of amendments; hopefully removing a couple of the more recent ones.
When I lived my life as a raging blue haired prog, we used to just slather over the idea of a convention of states, we were always pushing for one. Just sayin.
here's the deal, fat. progs don't think for themselves. They think they do, but they don't. All their "ideas" are fed to them from higher up the globotrash chain. We didn't even know why we wanted a convention of states, we just for some reason thought that was gonna be our golden ticket to prog-utopia. I lived my whole life as a politically engaged prog, and I had never even heard of george soros until I left to go MAGA. Progs only think what someone else tells them to think. So who probably told them to think they want a convention of states?
The states approve a uniform resolution limiting the potential amendments of the convention to those addressing a balanced budget, term limits for federal offices, and stopping federal overreach in areas that should be controlled by the states.
Check conventionofstates.com and you can find the wording of the resolutions at work in each state.
What we need is a clear, standardized path for citizens to recall rouge 'representatives' like JHB and Liz Cheany. Victory at the polls is not a mandate to do whatever the fuck you like. That is the amendment that needs to be added, a way to hold accountable those who lie their way into office.
Limit their ability to work freely in your state without your permission.
Force state oversight of any feds deployed to your state. Local sherrifs all have the primary responsibilities of enforcement and investigation. Feds have.to get local permission to indict a state citizen.
Please stop acting as if this would be a good thing. The constitution already limits the power of the federal and state governments. The People pushing this shit are the same people who have allowed/made the federal government as big and overreaching as it is already.
First clue= If Newsweek is pushing it then nothing good would ever come from such an event happening.
They want people to see this as a way to affect real change all while using it to strip your God given rights away.
Anyone looking for real change knows it happens by God people taking over positions of power at all levels of government. Local, state and federal
There already is. It's called the U.S. Constitution. All laws that aren't immediately mandated in the Constitution under Federal Jurisdiction are remanded to State's Rights. This includes policing, elections, taxpayer funding and taxing, firearm and ammunition ownership, and the right to form a militia.
The problem is the U.S. Code, the aspect of "the people" allowing illegally mandated "Federal regulations" from the bureaucracy and "elected" "representative" "government," the illegal taxation from the illegal I.R.S., and the illegal printing of "federal" "money" from an illegally mandated private bank. We can also attribute our current state to the illegal inaction of unconstitutional federal "policing" groups like the FBI, CIA, NSA, and all the other 3 letter asshat agencies of an illegally mandated "Federal" "government."
There is no way that the American People would've ever voted for any of this if they had known the truth. Fraud vitiates EVERYTHING. Everything after the Revolution and the initial set up and beginnings of the U.S. Constitution and U.S. Government has been fraudulently foisted upon our shoulders for us to bear.

The foundation is already set, but it's repeatedly ignored.
Fair statement, but even the Founding Fathers supported amendmants.
17 states? They must be fuking with us.
Not 17 for long. Hoping to pass South Dakota soon. Several more in the early part of the year. But we do need 34, which is 17 x 2 ;)
Counter symbolism and conditioning. Wait until you see how many are through media over the last 20 years.

They wanted and still want to eliminate the second amendment. Once they do that they can go full Australia on us.
ughhhhh..... of course.
Well many more are awake and dont want to go over that cliff now.
Just pointing out the convention effort is large, so may as well TCB. Would be a good time to address state lines too.

17th state, you say? ;-)

Great job! I support all of the above.
