For those that are interested, I thought I'd share what I saw today. The truckers were to have driven to Queen's Park (our provincial legislature). We drove downtown and parked about a 30 minute walk away. As we made our way to Queen's Park, we noticed the police had blocked off all the major roads downtown so the truckers couldn't get there. It was unclear where everyone was gathering so we went to the same location where they held the Freedom Rally. It looked like there was a counter (anti-freedom?) rally nearby.

The MSM were filming far away from the rally. It was mentioned that this was to give the impression of a small turnout. I would estimate there were the same amount of people today that attended the rally on January 22nd (many thousands). There was one incident I saw where someone was trying to cause trouble and a crowd gathered around him and escorted him away from the rally. Someone exploded a smoke bomb. One younger guy walked by us and pulled down his mask and said "some fringe group, eh?". He then pulled up his mask and walked away. He was wearing an earpiece. Obviously undercover and doing a shitty job. You don't wear a mask to a freedom rally!

After the speeches, we walked up to Bloor Street. It's there that we saw our first truckers. They were blocked from going further by the police. The crowd gathered there and it was a party like atmosphere. Trucks honking and people singing and dancing. A lot of people had brought Canadian flags. It was basically a standoff. It was another very cold day and we stayed until I was losing the feeling in my face. I wish was I was younger! As we walked back we noticed many more cars and trucks stopped on Bloor Street honking and waving. If anything, this created traffic chaos in the city.

Overall, it was disappointing that the trucks were stopped from gathering but the crowd that came out to support them was encouraging. I'm not sure how long the crowd will stay in place.
