Representatives of the Public Service Alliance of Canada said that the union would not be endorsing a counter-protest due to safety concerns for BIPOC people (Black, Indigenous, People of Colour).
Right blame it on the fragility of minorities, kek.
However, immediately it was made clear by a small group of activists that there was an even smaller meeting held behind closed doors, the night before, to come up with a proposal to block any attempt at strategizing actions for the weekend. The discussion was almost exclusively based on the need to cancel a counter-protest which had been posted on Reddit and had received a lot of attention with 9000+ likes.
Ah, one can never let a rival Reddit group take all the glory, I mean, why cant I get 9000+ likes ???
We also pointed out the need to split the “Freedom Convoy” on class lines with bold demands that show we are on the side of the workers, unlike the leaders and funders of the convoy. We need to demand higher wages for nurses and truckers, safer workplaces and hazard pay.
300 IQ plan to demand higher wages when these folks are about to lose their jobs due to mandates lol
After considerable calls to cancel the counter-protest, one of the organizers said that he would cancel it, but that he couldn’t speak for the other. To his credit, the other organizer refused to cancel the counter-protest and said that he would go ahead with it for Saturday at 2 p.m. Enraged by this, some people in the meeting turned to active sabotage, including suggestions of getting moderators to take down the thread about the protest on Reddit and actively advertising on social media telling everyone not to go.
Oh, so the cancel culture is not just against us, its against anyone they dont like, even their own.
But the hostility continued as new speakers were being called “bots” for defending us, and other kinds of nonsensical accusations.
Well, cant argue there, these are the experts in bots
The majority of speakers used the rest of the time in the meeting to say that organizing a protest was too dangerous
Anything that involves leaving their couch is dangerous
According to a poll by Abacus Data and reported by the National Post this week, 32 per cent of Canadians sympathize with the convoy. This is a concrete fact proving that those who support the convoy are not a homogenous group of fascists.
Small glimmer of awakening here?
labour must split them on class lines!
Haha nope, just more strategising as to how marxist can do what marxists do best - destroy anything thats good and wholesome.
If labour and the NDP continues to remain inactive, more workers will fall further into the hands of the right-wing populists.
You betcha sweet sweet asses!
If wearing a mask were truly the "right" thing that they keep claiming it is then they'd have to no problem wearing it even if heckled. When you truly stand for a just cause, you know it in your heart. When I knew in my heart I was right, I find it easy to stand for that cause even others told me I was wrong. It's just an instinct.
However, if you know deep down you are wrong, then it's easy to feel ashamed and humiliated at even the slightest of criticism because you know that you are wrong.
The reason they can't face the truckers is because these Leftists know they've been the bullies. That they were the ones fighting to strip others of their freedoms. Now they're trying to make excuses for their evil by saying "I... er... safety! I was fighting for our safety! You don't care about safety!"
Any attempt to say "Hey we can be safe without masks and lockdowns (which don't work)" bring howls and screams. They know that counter argument is reasonable and rational so they have to shut it up because they are the ones that sound like lunatics. They are the ones trying to take away freedom.
Interesting points.
I also think that much reflexive leftism isn’t about being a true believer, rather it what the “cool kids” do, or what everyone else is saying, the tv, politicians, their friends…how can it NOT be right?
But since they are such go-along-Sallies, they don’t have convictions or even the real belief that the masks keep them safe. Their acute fear is from not being in the group. It is from being ostracized.
THAT is correct. This mindset can be boiled down to a high school mindset. They want so badly to be in the popular crowd. The football players and cheerleaders of yore have been replaced by "celebrities" and news personalities. So they just transfer that hero worship from Biff and Sally (I'm really not that old) to celebrities and talking heads. And by agreeing with what they perceive is the much larger "cool group" (because these celebrities and talking heads are EVERYWHERE in our faces) then they can be a part of this cool group. And suddenly they feel bolstered enough to bully and make fun of what they perceive is the much smaller, dorkier group. What's making them so angry is that all of a sudden they're discovering that the 2 sides are actually opposite, the smaller dorker group is actually the silent majority. And they're back where they were in high school, no longer a part of the cool crowd. And they're pissed,
Another wrinkle from another poster last week...the ones with vax passes and masks were finally part of the “elite” and got to go into venues, restaurants etc...show their pass or “VIP” card and get in
They dearly do not want to part w that status. They were SPECIAL.
Maybe on some level they have some kind of inkling they're wrong but not enough to bubble up into their awareness. I think you're giving them too much credit.
