A few days ago I posted my Media Manipulation Language red flag list.
Well haha, I just put the list into a browser plugin ("Highlight This") which highlights the terms any time they appear on a web page. Now all the media garbage is plainly exposed. The cringe propaganda can no longer slide into the brain undetected.
This has some real potential to become a browser plugin of its own, don't you think? It could become a thing as common as an AdBlocker. Fake News Manipulation Detector.
Pretty cool right?
that was a good post, thank you
That website you reference is a gold mine of excellent fake-news memes: https://mediatricks.org/
Thanks for sharing Western Man!
I've been collecting anti-media red pills for 3 years now. The site will be bursting at the seams when it's done :)
There's 250 posts in there now, and about a 2000+ more to go
Interesting concept. I recall long ago, far away, when I had a teacher along the way who introduced me to the concept of "buzzwords," or as he called them, "charged language." He meant words that are charged with subliminal appeals to the emotions rather than the intellect. Ever since then I have bee alert to such language when I read things, sort of my own app running in the back. ground of my brain.
Of course what is a "buzz word" for a leftist publication like The Guardian would have the opposite effect coming from a right-leaning publication.
Side question: Does the UK even HAVE a right-leaning publication?
One of my proto-red-pills growing up was a recognition that language arts classes had a consistent tendency to teach about charged language and critical thinking, then spend the entire rest of the semester both demonstrating and falling for charged language with no ounce of critical thinking. I couldn't understand how almost no one else would see it when I brought it up
Yes, same here. To this day I have conservative friends send me things that, while nominally seeming to be correct in substance, are full of charged language that appeal to emotion over intellect. Maybe it's because of our dumbed down education system that no longer bothers to teach critical thinking.
Now I will admit that sometimes in my personal writing style, say in emails to fellow travelers, I will use charged language, but I expect higher standards from the conservative media, print and televised.
Daily Mail is interesting. One of the few companies not owned by globohomos.
I see lots of red pill shit mixed in with blue pill and sjw and celeb news.
it's weird.
The thing I remember about my last visit to England (2012) was the proliferation of free newspapers at every Underground station. Sort of take your pick among a variety of papers. I can't recall if The Guardian was one of them.
This is why MSM has become unwatchable and unreadable. It's not fact filled. It's pathetically redundant and droll. And not just for us people on the Far Right. lol
Here's another example: https://i.imgur.com/hZqS90q.png
I wonder why the msm never says the left or far left ideology?
So many people need a noose.
Love it. Here's how I shared it:
Actually see how they're manipulating your news with these helpful tools.
If you take this list:

Nice. You can pretty much have a "propaganda scale" depending on buzzword density.
I like this a lot. I'm interested
Yeah this definitely has potential!
Lol this is great
BINGO
Is this plugin active 100% of the time, or can you turn it on just for individual pages that you want to check out?
It's interesting, but I wouldn't want highlights on everything I look at while I'm doing my work.
You can set it to display only on certain sites, or exclude certain sites, or just click it off and on whenever.
Good. That makes it very useful, even in other fields of study. Thanks.
You can make different word lists which are active or inactive on different sites. Very handy
Still isn't working, either.
[they] can use all the buzzwords and phrases [the] want. It still doesn't change anything.
In the end, WE win because God wins.
