I get your point about the current climate, but the overarching point is that we don't need Congress' permission to amend the Constitution. Congressional term limits, abolishing the IRS and replacing it with a National Retail Sales Tax, Balanced Budget Amendment... They can all be accomplished without the swamp in DC, but you're absolutely right, we need patriots to get it done.

If people succeed in getting a convention of states, can anyone guarantee 100% that the people in charge of running it can be controlled? Who can GUARANTEE they will be prevented from going off and adding ammendments that have nothing to do with the reason the convention was called in the first place? No. Nobody can guarantee anything, because a convention of states like this has never happened before. All previous ammendments to the Constitution have been passed using other options. Nobody has any idea whatsoever how a convention would play out or what kind of evil and corruption could make its way in to boomerang the entire process.
