Ummm....I might be confused but if you are a publicly traded company I'm pretty sure you no longer classify as privately owned. I'm just going to use Facebook here as my example since it was listed in the headline. The second that Facebook IPO debuted in 2012 they became a publicly traded company and are no longer private. If you can buy a companies stock on an exchange, they aren't a private company.....just saying.
So any private company has the 'right' to disqualify someone based on anything then -- like race, religion, sexual orientation, being too tall or too short, too fat or just plain ugly. Makes sense.
