I would say that the US is a "far right" country, as defined in it's constitution which, when operative, severely limits it's government. The left use far-right as an epithet and a slur, but only because they believe in government provided everything (even crack-pipes).
Far-right is really a form of anarchism - highly limited government, or if you like, freedom. Far-right is not, properly, authoritarianism at all.
Not to be confused with nazism or fascism which are authoritarian.

Agreed. American Conservatism stands alone. It is not on the continuum of left wing and right wing. American Conservatism exists to preserve a system of government that was established to protect the rights of the individual and limit government.

Even the "political center" seems like "far right extremists" when the entire political spectrum has shifted so far to the left.
There is either good or there is evil.
I guess the choices are "far right" and dictatorship.
