There was a great interview by John B Wells about this. A mother’s teenage son got into a car wreck and they used him for organ harvest. It was all really shady.
Gift of Life is one of the most evil and vile organizations ever. They don't wait for you to die, they harvest your organs while you're alive with a beating heart.
But when they pronounce you brain dead ..then they don't. They do the same thing with aborted babies..some are nearly full term or full term and the reason they give for no pain medication is to have the organs in optimal shape.
I can second this. While in college, my Mom was hit by a drunk driver and spent over a month in a coma. Every day they pressured the family to pull the plug. They said she had little to no brain activity.
While changing her sheets, they dropped her and she screamed and woke up. She didn't recognize her parents or friends for several weeks. But it all eventually came back to her. (My Dad dated her before the accident, and they have adorable stories about what she remembered when he came to visit her.) Doctors said she would be mentally impaired. She finished college and got her Masters. Doctors said she wouldn't be able to walk. She ran marathons and coached softball.
It took years, but she healed 100%. Doctors don't know shit. They would have killed her if my Grandma hadn't been a tiny velociraptor.
When you find out how organ donation works... you wouldn't want to be on it no matter what.
Let's just say that when you donate organs, they have to be in a working condition. Organs die very VERY quickly, once YOU die.
Are you starting to get a picture of what happens yet?

...and it isn't painless either. No anaesthestics as they need organs clean...brain dead diagnosis faulty and people have recovered.
Scary prospect. I was on the donor list for 25 years. I took myself off 2 months ago.
I did the same once I became a Dad. Didn't want to be euthanized so some hospital could mark up my organs by hundreds of $$.
Agree in principal, but my cousin donated a kidney to my aunt, and they both got plenty of pain meds before and after.

Of course it could be they are psychopaths
You don't have to be dead to donate a kidney.

We are here for your kidney.
But Im still using it!
"You signed the card!"
And if you are declared legally dead they do not give you anything for the pain while cutting you open.
