I had an issue about a year ago with the car's gps navigation system. I read up on it and it said the computer has old satellites in its database and needed to clear those out of its memory and search for new ones. I disconnected the car battery for an hour, reconnected and haven't had an issue since.
Oh wow, I didn't know that. Crap now I have to look for a different phone map tool. Waze does seem to work better though. I got the suspicion that Google was screwing with me when the map directions said 1.5 hours for something really 20 mins away. They also send me on wildly out of the way routes. They definitely know my political stance so I assume they are purposely messing with me / us.
The military doesn’t control GPS. Most apps are using third party APIs like TomTom and half of those APIs are controlled by companies in other countries. Waze is Israeli for example.
Oh I see what you mean. I had assumed you meant the military was adjusting the data that third party companies were outputting. You mean the literal satellites signals could be fuzzed. Interesting. I haven’t noticed anything but I also rarely use GPS
Like when Iraqi GPS jamming equipment were destroyed by GPS guided munitions. GPS jamming equipment like theirs only worked against ground based or very low altitude receivers. GPS guided munitions are set on their way using GPS, inertia does the rest.
Go with the Rand/McNally map...never any bugs or glitches
You know, that is probably a good idea, we used to have some really nice ones that we used to use all the time. I think we tossed them though.

I noticed Google maps hasn't been working well the last few months but Waze is working well.
Google owns Waze.

Google wants the Waze platform to be their standard eventually because it is way better at spying on you.
Cell phone or actual GPS device?
I've had problems before with my cell phone in the past. Try restarting.
Cell phone. Thanks for the tip, will do!
Cell phones work off radio tower triangulations. Not satellites.

I’ve heard in times of crisis/war they can turn it off or reduce its accuracy.
