Really annoying. I am in UK and when we were part of the EU they made us adopt legislation that I can only buy US stocks if the issuer produces an EU-required document. Of course people in the US do not want the hassle to do that so I cannot buy.
Brexit was supposed to fix all this stuff but the legislation was never rolled back after we left EU. The promises of Brexit were never fulfilled and we were scammed it just made life even more difficult.

I did not know that about the stock. This right here is some communist bs.
I am in the UK and have bought some via freetrade which is an app based broker. You have to sign a form to buy US stocks.
Great info!!! 😎
That's interesting, the document I spoke of is called a KIID (Key Investor Information Document) - no KIID, no can buy.
Maybe because freetrade is American and they don't know they are supposed to be restricting it ? Anyway thanks for the heads-up
You need to pay for a premium account to buy american stocks.
This is important: They won't let you DRS (direct register your shares, important for GME)
My account is a stocks and shares ISA if that helps.
