Amen! Love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbor as thyself. That's the Yoke and the burden is to do it every day!
AMEN! That name. That precious, HOLY Name! No other name is given - in all of human history - whereby we can have reconciliation with The Father. AND, in that beloved, liberating, life-changing NAME above all names, we also can have right relationship with each other and with God's matchless creation. (paraphrase of Acts 4:12) Yet there is NO OTHER!!
JESUS CHRIST! KING OF KINGS! LORD OF LORDS! Donald Trump himself will tell you: "I'm just your President. Your Savior is JESUS CHRIST!"
Slavery to sin (in that you cannot stop sinning) leads only to death.
Being a slave to Christ means you seek to do God’s will (which is holy and perfect and good) and leads to eternal life.
Either way, one of these two will be your destiny, you live or die. This life is not unimportant, yet what happens when we die? Can you honestly tell me that anyone is perfectly good if their own volition? We are all bad. We have eternity placed in our hearts. That is evident by one word, legacy. The legacy you leave behind on earth shapes peoples views of you, which people place at a strangely high value. Also, look at the zeal people have for seemingly random things, like COVID, there is a lower case g god in their life. They are slaves to that fear. So each person’s god that they follow is a mere substitute for the belief in God. The problem is, the god of fear, the god of sensuality, the god of wealth, the god of fame, has no eternal prospective. There’s nothing to be gained after you die. What is the point of it all if when you die, all is for nothing?
Why has saying God damn it and Jesus Christ become the quintessential swear word for non believers? Turns out this is part of Satans ploy, further proving Christianity.
If you are interested in the the science of a young earth, I have a friend who has saved a bunch of links that he could cobble together in just a few minutes if you are interested. All from good sources, it’s what converted him actually. He became Christian after looking at the age of the earth, came to the conclusion that there must be a God, then looked into all the religions, finding that Christianity was the only one that told the truth of history, and maintained continuity throughout.
“No longer do I call you servants, for the servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all that I have heard from my Father I have made known to you.”
And there is:
2 Corinthians 6:18
“And I will be a father to you, and you shall be sons and daughters to me, says the Lord Almighty.”
1 Peter 2:9
“But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light”
I don’t disagree, we are called slaves of righteousness, but as you stated and quoted, God makes us sons and joint heirs of the almighty God!
Romans 6:18
[18] and, having been set free from sin, have become slaves of righteousness.
Paul then goes on to say how he is speaking in human terms for our understanding. I hope my comment, along with additional reply I gave helps expound on that difficult topic of explaining what it means and why it is good to be a slave in some sense.
Thanks for speaking the truth my friend. Good input.
Yeah and slave in their context is a little bit more like an indentured servant.
It’s good to be so tied to righteousness. I certainly don’t really feel the desire to do wrong. It just isn’t appealing. It’s not involuntary or against my will. It’s naturally who I am as a servant and friend of God. I’m one of His people.
Amen

Isn't being a "bondservant" a bad thing?
No.
In this life, you are a slave no matter what. To whom are you a slave unto?
You are a slave to God. God will make you His son if you are.
You are a slave to sin. God will leave you in your sinful state, and the price for sin is death (eternal).
Wouldn't you rather be a temporary slave, soon to be a free son of the Living God?
Doesn't sound very good to me...

Sorry for the long rant, I’m rather wordy.
I don't believe the earth is 6000 years old.
It’s one way to put it, but Jesus also said this:
John 15:15
“No longer do I call you servants, for the servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all that I have heard from my Father I have made known to you.”
