How can you tell?
There's no trace of a Ukrainian accent in his English. It's highly suspicious.
I'm second gen Hungarian and I have nothing but a Michigan accent.
He said heβs 4th generation.
Does that mean 4 generations after moving to US? Because that would make him American. When I read the title I thought it meant him and the last 3 generations were born in Ukraine.
Yeah, this is what I thought, too.
Pocahontas, aka Elizabeth Warren, is 10th generation native american and she doesn't have an accent.
There's no trace of a German or Dutch accent in my English and I'm fourth-generation German and Dutch. I had to take German in high school. Really, how can you claim to be suspicious when you don't know enough to be suspicious?
Because a lot of people apparently equate nonstop combative paranoia and suspicion with intelligence.
My husband speaks the language of his parents fluently, and speaks English with no trace of a foreign accent. It's certainly possible.
Do you even know what 4th Generation means? Obviously not.

TIL: All Ukrainians look alike
I did think it was odd that he said the Ukrainian people were corrupt, rather than saying the Ukrainian government is corrupt.
As an American, I would say our government is corrupt, but by and large our people are good (though some of them are certainly brainwashed).
He did.
