We had this system put in a couple of years ago. We went in a little blind not really knowing or having anyone that had gone solar. The system did not work properly when it was installed. Unfortunately we were told that we could not go off grid and that we had to sell back to the local electric company. So we have batteries that are supposed to work as our backup during power outages. The system has never worked properly and my electric bills have not dropped. There is always an excuse with the solar company that the problems are with the electric company and then the electric company blames the solar company. The system cost over 60 grand and I have had to get an attorney involved because knowing what I know now I do not want them even on my property at this point. I do know people who have had luck with solar however it has been a complete nightmare for us.
Have you looked into the Tesla PowerWall solutions?
That might have been nice had I not gotten so bamboozled with the 22 worthless paperweights in my backyard. I am now broke and with hyperinflation starting to sky rocket I can't afford anything else. Maybe if the lawyer can get them removed and get some of my money back but I am not looking for a miracle like that to happen. We were idiots trying to do something to help ourselves, the environment and have power for ourselves and my parents in the event of 10 days or more of darkness. But at this point I will be fine without any of it.
Y'all weren't idiots, you were making a good decision that thousands of people have made. There are thieves out there who are very experienced and skilled at trapping good people. It's upsetting, but I'm glad you're getting a lawyer.
Sorry to hear fren, 60K is a hell of a lot of money.
Thanks fren. Yes it is, and there have been many tears shed over it. Hoping for the best outcome but I also know others that have been screwed over by the same company but they have a clause in the paperwork that protects them from class action suits. Evidently they had been sued under a different name, reorganized and changed their name. They protected themselves according to my attorney but at this point they have misrepresented themselves so I may be able to have something done.
