We are sort of same. For example EU regs meant we had to adopt metric, but many things still Imperial. You still see miles on roadsigns. Sometimes we had workarounds for example beer cans have to be metric, but popular Stella Artois cans are 568ml, which just happens to be one pint.
...the rest of the world doesn't write dates in the order we do just like we don't use the metric system..
