cancelling a classical music conductor who lived 150 years ago makes about as much sense as closing all yacht clubs, throw away all 7-string guitars, melting down all naval mines, burn all beehive frames for bee hives, ignore Lenz's law for electric currents, and while you're at you might as well throw away all the currency that has decimals in it. Yep, those things all came from Russia too.

This is especially ironic since if you listen to the full length version of the 1812 overture the story it tells feels just like the great awakening, trials and all.
My favourite piece ever. Never fails to move me.
When I was in college, my roommate and I always played the 1812 Overture while cleaning house, and that has become a fond memory for both of us.
When the great awakening is upon us all, it will be a bottle of fine champagne for me and my wife whilst my record player blasts out the 1812 at full volume.
I just hope the weather is nice because we'll have to be outside unless we wear ear defenders ;)
