Texas County judges are unique, in the fact, that they don’t really issue rulings in the traditional way we think of when envisioning a judge at work.
Hidalgo holds a VERY powerful position in the 4th largest city in Texas.
Texas County judges, as presiding supervisors of the commissioners courts, help govern county government, including providing safety protection, public transportation, parks, hospitals and buildings, providing zoning, waste, water and permit regulations, levying and collecting taxes for county and municipal organizations and overseeing and enforcing more specific duties, as laid out by Texas statutes. Though county judges are presiders, they may not veto the commissioners.

Glad to see that Judges can be investigated. Hopefully, this can be a lesson. Remember, everyone will ultimately be judged!
That's what I was thinking. Nice to see potentially corrupt judges investigated. They probably thought they were untouchable.
