Yeah dude the Ukrainian border guards were asking if we had extra gear for them, unreal how close they're taking it
Yeah man I had been mortared before and thought that was pretty gnarly because it's out of your control ya know, but being absolutely defenseless and in the open with three aircraft just shitting all over you with such heavy ordinance was a whole new level of helplessness
... but ultimately they're manning frontline positions that are going to get hammered with artillery and airstrikes, buried under rubble and your family never gets your body. . That's when alot of guys say yeah this isn't our fight, not like this.
And some pretty redpilled comments:
how the fuck did you not expect something like this
Funny TV man told me Russia was losing.
Do you mean that the US establishment would go on TV and just tell lies?
NATO is the best to crush defenseless countries like bugs to show who's the boss.
So you went to this war thinking you were gonna pick on some farmers and goat herders like in iraq and afghanistan with full might of the american airpower but ran back as soon as you ended up in the shoes of those brown insurgents
Isn't it a war crime to go fight for someone else?
Teher are multiple levels to that. First is the home country. In most countries during normal times this would be a crime. I believe a lot of countries made it clear that they wont prosecute them.
Second is the war itself. If you join the regular Ukrainian army then I believe you are fighting legally. This would require signing their contracts and what not. However if you join one of the paramilitary groups, you are considered a mercenary, and Russia has made it clear that they consider you a war criminal and will not afford all the privileges under Geneva Convention etc if get caught. Apparently killing them in the battlefield will not even be a violation of any international laws. Not sure how true that is, but these people will be in a ton of pain if they get caught.
Yep, the last thing you want to be doing for the next few weeks is fighting Russia as a mercenary.
First off, you're probably going to die instantly in an air strike and never know what happened, and second, when they catch you they don't have to treat you like a member of a foreign military. They can treat you like a terrorist instead.
The last thing I want in life is to be treated like a terrorist in a Russian prison.
The Ukrainian kleptocracy sure as shit ain't worth it.
Being baby sat by Casey Anthony ranks higher on my list as a damn good time.
You don't get it. When they say they won't take hostages, it means you will get a bullet in the head after you surrender. Russians play for keeps.
You're considered a mercenary. Putin explained the normal laws of war do not apply to those person's. So even if they surrender they can be executed.
