Russian vehicles currently fighting in Ukraine have large, prominent "Z"s painted on them. There's been a bit of speculation as to why, including to make sure that footage from other conflicts isn't peddled as the current Ukraine/Russia conflict (which hasn't stopped the news media from doing so anyway).
OP's OP is saying that the Russian vehicles have Zs on them, meaning they are fighting the Not-Z forces. Sound it out if that doesn't make sense.
Ah for a marker to prove it's current video is clever. I didn't understand the purpose as marking them 'russian' because nothing stops the Ukrainians from tagging z on their vehicles.
Yeah that one never came to me. Makes total sense. Always imagined they some kind of organizational nomenclature and odd theybwere spray painted on ad-hoc.
OP, I'm still in the dark about the meaning of the "Z". Your pics are nice, but fill in with subtitles at least. Thanks

Probably to cut down on friendly fire too
OP is wrong, if he's even serious. It's gotta be him making a joke. This Z has been explained to death already.
Yeah cov but u gotta admit it's a long shot we can do that in English.
A coincidence perhaps...still
Pretend like several of us in this thread missed it and fill us in.

Z = initial for west in Russian
Z denotes Western Russian, or zapadnye russkie, forces
Those bearing a V or B are eastern Russian
OP made clever pun but it's only a joke
I’m from Canada and didn’t get it as I pronounced it “Not-Zed”... if you pronounce it “Not-Zee” the joke makes sense and is hilarious.
