“ Where are you getting this second death?”
This is what I’m asking you. You are saying that someone dies, and then goes to hell until... they die again? Perish, as if that’s different than death? The Bible uses both interchangeable. I don’t understand at all where you get this crazy idea from because it’s not spoke of in any Scripture, having to die twice.
Are you seriously retarded and don’t realize that everyone dies, but not everyone has it be everlasting, because the saved are given life again?
People die, they go to heaven or hell. In hell, they experience death continually. Everlasting. In heaven, people are given life again.
It’s really not hard to understand.
Did you know Jesus DIED?? But he was resurrected and lived again. He did not experience everlasting death in hell.
I NEVER said any of that, you interpreted it that way because you are still trying to fit my belief of no hell into your belief of hell.
People die, if they are believers they are given eternal life; if they aren’t, they perish. This is the eternal punishment, ceasing to exist. This aligns with all the scriptures I provided you. If you can provide me with scriptures that say otherwise, please do so. I’d be happy to be proven wrong, because that means I would be growing in my faith (certainly been wrong before), but it will be done divinely through scripture, not because you said so (no offense).
Well you definitely don't believe in the Bible then.
So do you think the physical descriptions of hell are wrong then, if people just simply perish after death and cease to exist? Why is there a "realm of the dead" then spoken of in the Bible if the dead don't even exist anymore? Why do other translations use "eternal punishment" when referencing hell?
You are an absolute idiot if you read about the "realm of the dead" in the Bible and think that people just cease to exist after death.
“Then they will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life.”
"The wicked go down to the realm of the dead, all the nations that forget God."
"If your hand causes you to stumble, cut it off. It is better for you to enter life maimed than with two hands to go into hell, where the fire never goes out."
The fire never goes out.
"In a similar way, Sodom and Gomorrah and the surrounding towns gave themselves up to sexual immorality and perversion. They serve as an example of those who suffer the punishment of eternal fire."
"“Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels."
Punishment of eternal fire.
"The path of life leads upward for the prudent to keep them from going down to the realm of the dead."
"because you will not abandon me to the realm of the dead, you will not let your holy one see decay."
REALM OF THE DEAD
"The sea gave up the dead that were in it, and death and Hades gave up the dead that were in them, and each person was judged according to what they had done."
Gave up the dead?? But you said that the dead just perish and cease to exist afterwards!
"Then death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. The lake of fire is the second death."
Death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire now? What is this second death here that the Bible is speaking of now? I'm surprised you didn't use this verse when I baited you by asking about the Bible talking about hell being the second death. It sure doesn't seem to describe what you are offering at all.
BUT WAIT FOR IT -- HERES THE BEST ONE
"And the devil who had deceived them was thrown into the lake of fire and sulfur where the beast and the false prophet were, and they will be tormented day and night forever and ever."
FOR EVER AND EVER? So this is what the Lake of Fire is. This is where everyone and everything is cast in the end.
"“Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels"
So... you still think people just simply cease to exist after death, and are not tormented... FOR EVER AND EVER?? Because if you do, you didn't get the idea from the Bible.
IM REALLY INTERESTED IN HOW YOULL RESPOND TO WHAT THE BIBLE HAS TO SAY ON THIS MATTER.
Dude, how about some book and chapter references? It’s gonna take me a minute to address this
Since I wrote too much for you to deflect on and not address in the other post, I'll just leave this here for you to figure out how to dispel:
"And if anyone's name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire."
"And the devil who had deceived them was thrown into the lake of fire and sulfur where the beast and the false prophet were, and they will be tormented day and night forever and ever."
Notice how that last one addresses the devil (singular) and then says they (plural) will be tormented forever and ever. Also notice how everyone not written in the book of life is cast in there. You gotta love how specific the Bible is for refuting bullshit like this.
Good luck with trying to bend the Bible to your own will, but God won't have it!
Read the whole book of revelations on that one bud, it is referring to the beast and the false prophet(antichrist) being thrown into the lake of fire. That is the “they”. Not once did you address anything I showed you as evidence, yet you sit and accuse me of having scales over my eyes…
I did address you, why aren’t you paying attention? People experience everlasting punishment in hell, as they are dead or perish, eternally. You’re not bringing any other point up besides the verses describing hell as death. No verse talks about “punishment in hell UNTIL death” or any variation of it, so you are literally injecting meaning in despite all of the contrary context.
Why don’t you address the “realm of the dead”, death/people being brought from it, and how that fits into your notion of “ceasing to exist after death” or “punishment until death”?
What happens when someone is thrown into the lake of fire?
Why is the word “everlasting” or “eternal” used when referencing the punishment in hell, rather than “until death”? It doesn’t sound “everlasting” or “eternal” in anyway at all if it only lasts until death, and isn’t eternal, it just sounds like being tortured to death, which happens here on earth too.
I don’t think the Bible could be any more clear. The punishment is everlasting. It doesn’t end. It’s literally the definition of everlasting and eternal. The punishment is like death, like fire that doesn’t burn up, like thirst that doesn’t quench, there will be gnashing of teeth, it is forever and ever. It is what true death is, like a second death. You really think ceasing to exist is punishment? Sinners would wish.
Why don’t you just listen to what the Bible says? It’s pretty obvious if you don’t inject whatever YOU want to believe into it.
