Look, everyone has their shitty foods. Taco Bell's mine, so apparently hot mustard is yours. I'm just so disappointed that the second ingredient on "hot mustard" is high fructose corn syrup, and then the egg yolks that points to it being mayo. And it's just like, "yo, I just want some spicy mustard :("
So I try it and it's just..sweet. Anyone I talk to with a low spice tolerance seems to like it, and that should've tipped me off there.
And when referencing liquid carbs, I'm referencing the high fructose corn syrup. Something that doesn't even need to be in a solid 80% of the things it's in to achieve the consistency or flavor, but they add that to as many things as possible.
For what it's worth, I had my first actual fast food from Dairy Queen not so long ago and it was damn good for fast food. They're just not very close to me.
As someone who has been on a low carb diet, high carb diet and some attempts at carb cycling with solid results, I feel the difference that the consumption of high fructose corn syrup in large amounts adds, and it definitely metabolizes differently. Doesn't help that a small amount of that is greater carbs than equal amounts of sugar.
TL;DR: I have a vendetta against the corporations who slam high fructose corn syrup into everything they make. Sometimes I just want a meal for cheap before/after a workout/acquiescing to someone in my party's whims that isn't going to break my personal allotments of carbs. I can eat breads, I can even eat mass produced buns, but for some reason McDonald's foods just has so much of that shit.
I don't fault or judge you for having a shitty food weakness because anyone who says they don't is lying, deflecting or delusional. I just stand confused because the "hot mustard" was such an unsatisfying experience (as are their fries the past few times I've had them in the last couple years, at least during the dinner rush).
Hell yeah, or rather, truck yeah! Low carb is a good lifestyle. Also, you realize over time how FAKE most food tastes when you only eat real food for a while. Meat, cheese, maybe milk (and that tasty keto ice cream, mmmmm)

I want some heat, dammit!
This has been an enlightening thread, I’m lovin’ it!
