Prescient is about right. You could almost draw a line where everything pre-Chris Morris was 'the good old days', and everything after him was 'the beginning of the end'. I don't think any other satirist straddles the phases of zeitgeist quite like him. Both The Day Today, and his other major project output, Brass Eye (there were others less notorious) were years ahead of the culture, satirising that which would later become verboten, including pedophilia, media and political corruption, racism etc. Woke hadn't happened yet but he knew it was coming. Nostradamus-like, he and his team knew the direction of travel at least 10, even 20 years in advance. I've often wondered what would happen if his content was to be broadcast 'as standard' in today's age as an experiment - there really would be an outcry today by the very same age group that back in the 90s really loved his edgy content. No-one batted an eyelid, because we were too busy raving and partying and co-existing with the world at large, experiencing and living in harmony across all tribes, while gorging on common sense and logic. I've honestly never understood where all the 'phobics' and 'isms' and 'hate speech' came from, because in my lifetime, up until the late 90s / early 2000s, it looked like we'd solved the melting pot challenges. Then it all went to shit, and went up a gear when Obama became leader of the free world.
There's certainly more to Rik than we knew. Chris might just be lucky... I like this clip from that film. Check out Rik's piece to camera at 7:20 - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rqaf5W6RLPo
Chris Morris was cool. Astounding the way he managed to get pols and celebs to go along with fake interviews. Never forgot his crusade against "cake" which was supposed to be a deadly super-addictive drug, and he pranked endless pols and celebrities on video to denounce "this deadly wave of cake fatalities."
It’s time for us to wage war back against every oppressing government, media, billionaire, tech giant, pharma, insurance, medical facility, school system Hollywierd etc that has done the same to us.
This guy's name is Chris Morris and his 90's media satire was brilliant and way ahead of its time. If you've never seen his show The Brass Eye, I highly recommend it.
WAR, what is good for? Absolutely, um, everything.
Resetting your currencies to global Communism?
Surplus inventory? Kerboom, GONE !!! (Follow up: Production is UP!!
