Problem with brave is it's pretty much google, only, supposedly, without all the logging and tracking.
Compare search results, search for something like "vaccine injuries" in both brave and yandex, see the difference in BS propaganda you'll get as the first, spotlighted, results.
I implore you to compare Yandex and Brave and see which search engine works best. I've tested censored subjects like "Putin's Address", "Full Send Trump Video", "Ivermectin Protocol for Covid" and the results were surprising. I was a Brave search-engine shill, now I'm a Yandex believer. Still using Brave as my browser. I love how it blocks trackers and ads on Youtube, etc.
Not sure about apps, I don't use a smartphone, but for my PC I have Brave as my internet browser and have set Yandex as my default search engine. For Brave you go to Settings>Search Engine>Manage Search Engines. Next you Add a search engine. This is what I entered:
My theory is that Brave search isn't "censored". Since it's still in beta I imagine it's simply a raw aggregate drawn from established engines such as google and bing. And if google and Bing are selling their top search results then it stands to reason you may get those results on the top of a brave search as well.
The difference is that Brave itself is not curating the results. Rather, it's mirroring the curated results of the US internet. I don't know what else Brave has done to set itself apart but my guess is that in due time, these psychos paying for curated results will soon be out of money since most of their assets are being siezed.
In issuing Brave now. So far so good.
Definitely different.

Or "Ivermectin Covid 19"
https://search.brave.com/search?q=ivermectin+covid+19&source=web
https://yandex.com/search/?text=ivermectin+covid+19&lr=87
Yandex knocks it out the park even with the first result. Brave's results are all propaganda saying it's a myth. Today I switch to yandex.

How do you use Yandex? As in what internet browser would you go through or do you use the Yandex app?
If you are on mobile there is a yandex app
Depending on what browser you use, the instructions will be different. In Brave, you need to go to settings > Search Engines > Manage > Add:
Search Engine: Yandex
Keyword: yan
SearchURL: https://yandex.com/search/?msid=1648217095989218-11159311744063889679-man1-5139-08e-man-l7-balancer-8080-BAL-843&text=%s
You can then set it as default, or use the "yan" keyword to activate the search in your browser's address bar. E.g. Type: yan Covid 19
Oh ok, gotcha. Thank you!

Search Engine: Yandex
Keyword: :y
Query URL: https://yandex.com/search/?text=%s
Then click Add and it should show up on the list of Default Search Engines just above. Now you can make Yandex your default search engine.
Awesome, thank you!
Brave and DDG are definitely censored and manipulated. I don't think any US search engine that I'm aware of permits off-narrative results.

But honestly, I'm just guessing.
