Silver is $25.50 or so. They want a $12.39 premium for that coin. $38+.There is no way in Hell I'd pay a 50% premium for silver, even for Q.
LoI. I hear you BUT this coin is a novelty. I'd buy one to have it, not for an investment.
Buying these rounds is a collecting decision. I have 10 of them. But I also have a lot of generic rounds. I plan to pass these down to my grandchildren regardless of what comes next.
This. My stack is a mix of generics and collectibles, the generics would get liquidated during retirement, some collectibles sold off as I often have at least two of each, and the singular pieces most likely passed down in my will to people I expect to appreciate them.
As I told a miserly friend of mine "life it too short to only have boring bars and no works of art to show off" and showed him my display case of favorites. After that he bought a few "fancy" coins himself.
I went to jm bullion to look at the punisher round linked below and saw an even better one, though it could just be the reverse. Id link it but after I bought ten rounds it was gone from the page and I cant find it in the sold out portion. It has a punisher with 2 ARs and on top it says "When Injustice becomes Law" and on the bottom "Resistance becomes Duty". Think it sold for $35.
this one I have some of and also these from same collection
I understand your point. I see it as an investment. I believe silver will go up in the future. If you believe in Q, and all goes accordingly, Q will be known across the world for generations. These coins will become extremely valuable as I’m sure new releases would come out and these will be limited editions. I can pass a bunch along to my kids too. Give as gifts. People buy these and these I don’t mind the premium. I also can’t walk into my local shops and find these. But I bet I could sell it to em. Especially when Q is mainstream. Which it is becoming.
...laying it on pretty thick :)
Correct. Too bad they can't verify the date it was minted somehow. When Q becomes world wide famous people can just mint Q coins if there is a demand.
True but I’ve got receipts. I saw they are part of a series, here they are side-by-side and check out the descriptions of Q on both pages! These people know what’s up! Saw this. “The Intaglio Mint often issues various designs in its themed programs, identifying each new design in a common series by Type I, Type II, Type III, and so on.” Type 2 “release, the Intaglio Mint has shifted from a relaxed bald eagle soaring through the sky to one that is on the attack. In this design, you get a front-facing view of an eagle as it descends down on its prey. The eagles beak is ready to strike as its talons are stretched out and ready to capture its target.”
The spot price is paper market driven BS now, generic 1oz rounds are over $30 all over the place. Even kilo bars aren't getting you down to near spot.
This. It's not even a limited mintage. I was on the "Notify me when in stock" list, but that price is fucking outrageous
