marijuana should be legal everywhere. It is literally the only drug on the planet you cannot overdose on. It puts you at ease if you do not overdo it and if you do overdo it then it just makes you tired. It helps with depression and is used as a painkiller in the medical field.
The same rules need to apply as alcohol, no driving while on it and no coming to work high or buzzed.
Unfortunately too many Republican's have their heads in the sand about it and i do not see the Senate passing it.

I do not believe this is true. I do not believe there's enough medical research out there on long-term marijuana use to say you can't overdose on it (might depend on your definition of "overdose"), although I'm willing to be proven wrong. Anecdotally, I have a childhood friend who smoked pot for years, especially during brain development years, who now says she notices an inability to think or concentrate clearly (when in the past she used to). She credits this to her heavy-handed pot smoking, but she also did a lot of other drugs -- so who knows.
I agree with you, in that rules need to apply, but marijuana is not the same as alcohol in the body. You metabolize alcohol. You do not metabolize marijuana, and it should be treated differently (but not necessarily lightly, or lighter than we treat those who drive or work intoxicated).
Somewhat unrelated: I've also noticed a lot of anger or defensiveness from those who smoke marijuana (not the CBD users), when it comes to usage. This, in my opinion, tells me marijuana is not a "safe drug". It doesn't help that I'm fiercely allergic to it and it smells terrible, but I digress! If something can be used to garner such an emotional reaction, it can be used to manipulate you.
I know many on this site will disagree with me, and I'm not looking for agreement -- here least of all. Just some food-for-thought, I suppose.
Marijuana is not to be used before your brain full devolpes. Studies have already been done to prove that it can stunt you just like alcohol or nicotine can.
Users probably get defensive because there are studies and proof all over the world that it is the safest drug. It was initially made illegal because tobacco reps paid off Senators .
And there are no known recorded deaths from weed overdose. You literally just get tired and have the best sleep of your life.
When you legalize marijuana nationwide, you are putting lives in the hands of government and money in the pockets of government. The aim of the government is to control: control you through drugs so you don’t know or care what is going on around you; through famine-food distribution control, maybe rationing, government dependence on food stamps; control of movement-rising gas prices, rising airline ticket prices& decreased flights, cruises only if fully vaccinated, through defunding police-making you scared to venture out of your safe zone; through jobs and loss of income-firing those who won’t submit to vaccination, by bringing in illegals to do the job at lower wages; through health control: abortion and infanticide on demand, transplant refusal if not “fully vaccinated”, refusing to treat unvaccinated, refusing to treat if you won’t wear a mask; through attempts at gun confiscation; through media-control of what you think and believe; through religious worship-paying churches to comply with lockdowns, masking, and what is taught at the pulpit. Only through drug smuggling, human trafficking of men, women and children, and weapons smuggling are the government entities making billions to carry on their nefarious acts.
The republican party establishment commanded republican reps. to oppose it in order to perpetuate the false narrative that the republican party wholly opposes people smoking weed, and the democrat party wants to let people smoke weed.
It's a big issue for millions of pot smokers who will always vote for whoever they think will de-criminalize (who wants to be criminal?) weed. It's a uni-party control trick. The old "good cop/bad cop" routine. This is simply the (bad cop) republican party establishment assisting the (good cop) democrats so that together, the uniparty establishment can push through bullshit, unconstitutional, oppressive, anti-American legislation, and always have someone else to point the finger at to blame. Establishment control on display, complete with smoke and mirrors.
This bill sucks though. It is only going to be a boon for mid to large sized companies. There is NO way they're going to let your average Joe open a small store and sell their own stuff ... The cost for permits will prevent that.
The only legal stuff out there will be from companies aligned with mid to big pharma. You really think that's a good idea?
They're doing the same shit state governments did with gambling. It's still illegal everywhere in said states EXCEPT at government sanctioned gambling places (with the exception of Nevada of course). You can't buy a few slot machines and operate them at your bar ... That's dangerous according to government. It's only dangerous to the scumbag piece of shit getting kickbacks from government gambling centers. Only the government can own monopolies you know ...
The tax would be upon cannabis sales, correct? Cannabis should never have been outlawed, it was criminal to do so. It never was prohibited constitutionally. It was prohibited to protect big pharma, Hearst papermill industry, DuPont. Why does "man" think he can outlaw "God?" Glad Matt Gaetz co-sponsored the bill. Now, the devil is in the details as always, and that seems to be why most people vote one way or the other, but ultimately, a vote to keep putting people in boxes over a plant funds the prison-industrial complex, destroys communities as parents are locked up for victimless crimes. I applaud it's passage. Legalization, NO, decriminalization, YES.
I was saying how ludicrous it is to be required to have a license to fish or hunt and how they have no right to keep anyone off of "federal" lands. They made that shit up
That why there all of these national and state parks...your use of the planet Earth is dictated by them.
Teddy either did it on purpose or didn't foresee the govt abuses that have ensued.
Hell, you can't collect ginseng in VA on federal lands...they WILL send you to prison! I've seen it happen.
When I trout fish I have 1/3 of a ruler, 10-15 ft of line wrapped around it, a hook and a sinker.
Toss it in where it looks good.
Not paying to hike my ass off,
risk a mosquito bite and possibly break a sweat, catch, clean and eat 1 or 2 fish at a time.
I agree. God gave us everything on the earth that we would need. Including cannibas. And you're right, Dupont screwed it into oblivion, and it's been demonized ever since. There soooo many health benefits from it and derivative products. As well as practical uses for hemp (rope, clothes, and yes even concrete!) And they're cheaper and better for you than the poison big pharma peddles to the masses. Recreational use should be treated like recreational alcohol use. Do it in your home on your own time. Most things in moderation can be good, and there's always gonna be stupid people using any product. When individual states legalize it, all the stupid pot heads flock to that state and make cannibas look bad. Full support of legalizing pot, but not with the gubment fine text attached.... Fuck the gubment

It makes you lazy and retarded if you abuse it but overall it's safer than anything else out there.

This is just decriminalizing. It will still be regulated and/or legalized/criminalized by your particular state.
Marijuana was only prohibited by big Pharma to force sick, terminally ill patients to use their poisons instead and make them rich.
Do you have a take on this story?
The republican party establishment commanded republican reps. to oppose it in order to perpetuate the false narrative that the republican party wholly opposes people smoking weed, and the democrat party wants to let people smoke weed.
